@Lin_Manuel@brokeymcpoverty I am a history prof who fact-checked the musical. It is remarkably accurate & the color-blind casting has contributed to meaningful conversations w/ students, including on issues of race. With you LMM!
@Lin_Manuel@brokeymcpoverty As a professor who speaks to student groups all the time, I have seen a real passion for history sparked by this musical. Never seen anything like it in 3 decades in the biz. A.Ham is contributing to a viable dialogue on important issues!
@Lin_Manuel@brokeymcpoverty With you LMM! A.Ham was a progressive on slavery, co-founded one of the first anti-slavery groups in the country, and when he worked for a West Indies firm that traded, among other things, slaves, he was just a starving, orphaned kid trying to stay alive.
@brokeymcpoverty As a professor who speaks to student groups all the time, I have seen first-hand that the Hamilton musical has sparked real passions for the Founding era and constructive conversations on race and slavery! Never seen anything like it in 30 years in the biz.
@brokeymcpoverty Hamilton's views on slavery were very progressive at the time, he was a co-founder of one of the first organizations in the country to end slavery, and when he worked for a trading company in the West Indies that, among other things, traded slaves, he was a starving, orphaned kid
@SportsCenter@IamCalebFarley@AdamSchefter Safety must be a priority, but you will be missing your senior year (and one only has a few years to play this fun sport) and not playing this year is bound to hurt your 1st round draft prospects and end up costing you millions.
Stand in solidarity with the students from the tragic shooting in Florida. Mon, Feb 26, 4:30 PM @ the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office (240 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach). A large group of area students are gathering to register to vote!
@CharlieKeegan41@41actionnews Good luck, Charlie (wasn't that a TV show a few years ago?). I am happy for you. I get to KC every year to visit the Truman Library.
