The Chiefs have agreed to a record-breaking extension that keeps Mahomes in Kansas City through the 2033 season. The deal is worth $504.75 million, making it the first contract in NFL history to surpass the half-billion dollar mark.

The first four years of the new money are fully guaranteed, and the contract averages $64 million per year beginning in 2027, setting a new NFL record for annual value.

Arm strength will always matter, but being able to consistently put the ball exactly where it needs to be is what separates the best quarterbacks from everyone else. The ability to throw receivers open, throw over defenders, and fit passes into tight windows is a skill very few players truly master.

Some of these throws don’t even look real until you watch them a second time. The window is tiny, the coverage is tight, and somehow the ball ends up exactly where it needs to be.

Luther Burden could be in line for a huge jump this season 👀🔥

After the Bears moved on from DJ Moore this offseason, there’s now a much bigger opportunity for Burden heading into Year 2. As a rookie, he still put together 47 catches for 652 yards and 2 touchdowns while sharing the field with multiple weapons, but now it feels like Chicago wants him to take on an even bigger role in the offense.

And from everything coming out of OTAs so far, Ben Johnson has been extremely impressed with him. Johnson said he’s “buying Luther Burden stock right now” and talked about how electric Burden has looked throughout the offseason program.

One thing that stood out too was Johnson saying Burden is playing at a completely different speed now because he’s thinking less and reacting more naturally on the field. That’s usually one of the biggest signs of growth for young players entering their second season.

The talent has always been there. Now the Bears are hoping this is the year Luther Burden fully breaks out. 👀🔥

Stafford, 38, now has two years and up to $105 million remaining on his deal with Los Angeles. The extension also makes him the NFL’s 8th-highest-paid quarterback with an average annual salary of $52.5 million.
