Spent all morning grading at a coffee shop. Read some good papers and not-so-great papers, but got a big chunk of the grading done.

Last night I did a video chat with some gamer friends I haven't seen in 20ish years. We are going to start a new D&D game, using the same homebrew setting we gamed in all those years ago. Very excited about this.

Classes are over and I am starting to grade. I gave my students the choice of what to write about for their final papers and they are all over the place. A lot are writing about how Marx was wrong.

I also did a little end of semester survey about their favorite/least favorite readings and topics. Kant won the least favorite race by a mile. Which surprised me a bit because I like teaching Kant.

Last day of class for my ethics students. They really were a joy this semester. Lively and engaged throughout a challenging time.

There is so much pressure in academia to sacrifice *everything* to be The Best. Maybe I just want to do good but not world-changing work, teach my students well, and have a normal life outside of work. And maybe that's actually FINE 🙃
