There is always an issue with that kind of gap.
I work in IT (AD), and I've met too many people who were good but not good enough to be helpful, creating resentment.
And it can be predicted easily. I ask for help, and the guy looks at the problem and asks me to solve it so he can work on it 😅
So, I explain that the crux of the job IS solving the problem. Then, some fight ensues where the guy mostly says, "But I never learned how to do it." I replied that I didn't either. Then I have to solve the problem, and the guy returns with, "You see, you knew. If you didn't learn how to solve this, you wouldn't be able to do it". From then on, everything you can say is insulting one way or another, as it boils down to "I am better than you at this."
So, you try to say that you've some experience, that you were lucky.
But it happens that you have an insane amount of experience on many topics and an insane amount of luck.
Then people start to realize you are much better than them at the job but don't want to admit it. And that fosters an awful environment.
Then, you naturally pick the most challenging problems so others can solve the easier ones.
In an ideal world, people are happy (to each to his capabilities).
In the real world, everyone struggles. You too. The big difference is that you've no support, and others look up to you for help. So, you start helping by removing roadblocks. Until you reach the point where you are not doing your job as you should. So, you begin denying some requests.
People are surprised and ask, "Why don't you help me for 5 minutes, because without you, it will take me hours?". And you've to explain that you are solving problems that are way more difficult and need to be solved. And when you're giving 5 minutes here and there, you're not doing your job. And there is nobody that can help.
And then, they feel insulted and reply aggressively.
That's why it's best to have teams where employees are homogenous regarding problem-solving skills. Too great of a difference and resentment will install.
One way around that is to have clear rules about who does what and provide time for support while ensuring everyone understands it's a privilege to get that help.
You still have to fo to the city, because you may grow them is an environment that is too safe and render them naive.
It's sad to say, but they need to see crime from their own eyes and know they can't trust people in the city.
Otherwise, they will end up stabbed at best the first day they go to the city.
I know, because I grew up in foster home country side. So, I was used to day hello to everyone I met.
Then I went to the city and it was a big slap in the face. Thankfully, I could visit my father 4 days a month and witnessed shooting, drug exchange and went pulled into fights 😅
So, Iearned that while in the country side you can let thing unatended and even ask somone to bring something from your house if they go by, you can't even let money on the table in cities.
In the country side, you would stuff money under the hash tray (when it was a thing 😅) and the waiter would grab only what he needed while you enjoyed drinks.
Some would ask a bottle, drink then the barman would ask "how much did you drink of it?" and people said the truth.
Such things never happen in the city. 😂
So, don't do them a disservice.
Things like water parks are a great way to introduce them to uncivilized people while being relatively safe.
You kids will have am awesome lofe!
I bought, because the rent was increasing faster than my salary and I would have been unable to pay tje rent within a year. Mind that I have a good salary.
I chose a fixed rate loan. Rate was higher of course. I am now paying a half or even third of rent.
I went from "I will have to learn to live in 20m²" to "I can breath at the end of the month."
All those who didn't buy are getting screwed due to inflation.
French 🇫🇷, English 🇬🇧, Belgian 🇧🇪, Spanish 🇪🇸 and German 🇩🇪 friends.
Our peoples are those whose existence is threatened with disappearance.
Perhaps you who read these lines feel a certain sense of inevitability and resignation, but you are not alone. There are millions of us who believe the future is bleak.
And it will be. In the coming years, we will live through the worst turmoil Europe has known since the Second World War, but time and again throughout history, our respective countries have faced invasions and wars, and each time, we have risen again.
This time, we will overcome it as well, but together against our common enemy.
@jeffdafo@DanielW_Kiwi OpenSSH. It just works because the protocol indeed emit CLOSE_WRITE when upload is done.
FTP programs may create the zero file, pass on to another process (thus triggering CLOSE_WRITE).
So, that's why it indeed worked to just switch to sftp.
