Comedian and radio personality Rickey Smiley recently criticized athletes supporting President Donald Trump, suggesting that legendary civil rights advocates like Jim Brown would be rolling over in their graves.

BUT THERE’S ONE BIG PROBLEM WITH THAT STATEMENT! 👀

On October 11, 2018, NFL legend and civil rights activist Jim Brown personally visited President Donald Trump at the White House alongside Kanye West!

YES, THE SAME JIM BROWN! 🤯

The meeting was publicly documented, televised, and covered by major news outlets, including Fox News.

So here’s my question for Rickey Smiley:

How are you going to invoke Jim Brown’s legacy to criticize athletes for meeting with or supporting Donald Trump when Jim Brown himself sat down with Trump?

This is exactly why RESEARCH MATTERS MORE THAN POLITICAL EMOTIONS!

You don’t have to like Donald Trump. You don’t have to agree with his policies. But you should never rewrite history or misrepresent someone’s legacy simply because it fits your political narrative.

Jim Brown understood something that too many people seem to have forgotten: You can engage with people you disagree with when you’re trying to advance issues affecting your community.

Since when did having a conversation with somebody you disagree with become an act of BETRAYAL?

💯 Sometimes advancing the interests of Black Americans means sitting across the table from people whose politics, policies, and perspectives you fundamentally oppose!

You don’t have to LIKE somebody to CHALLENGE them. You don’t have to AGREE with somebody to ADVOCATE for your community!

And sitting at the table doesn’t automatically mean you’re SELLING OUT! 🚨

Now, if Stephen A. went in there kissing Trump’s ass, that’s a different conversation. But if he went in there advocating for Black Americans, shouldn’t we judge him by what he actually said and accomplished?

Well, apparently, at the MTA, all you need is a pair of sneakers and a cellphone! 🤦🏾‍♂️

🚇 Footage reportedly filmed inside Corona Yard shows individuals roaming around subway trains in a restricted maintenance facility!

🚨 THIS IS NOT A PLAYGROUND! THIS IS CRITICAL NYC TRANSIT INFRASTRUCTURE!

These are the same trains that transport thousands of New Yorkers every day!

If individuals can apparently gain access to these facilities just to make social media videos, IMAGINE WHAT SOMEONE WITH MALICIOUS INTENTIONS COULD DO! ⚠️

And Governor Kathy Hochul, where is the accountability?!

💰 Billions spent on transit infrastructure, yet we’re left questioning whether the MTA can adequately secure its own facilities!

Here’s the MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION:

If the MTA can’t keep unauthorized individuals away from subway equipment while it’s sitting in a maintenance yard, HOW ARE NEW YORKERS SUPPOSED TO FEEL SAFE RIDING THOSE SAME TRAINS?! 🎯

The MTA owes the public an explanation, an investigation, and a plan to prevent this from happening again!

🚨 NEW YORKERS DESERVE SECURITY, NOT EXCUSES!

🚨 EVEN THE SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO SAVE MTA WORKERS’ LIVES ARE RAISING SAFETY CONCERNS! 🚨

Imagine showing up to work and finding your workplace looking like a demolition site! 🤯

Footage from inside an NYC Transit tower shows ceiling debris scattered across the workplace following a reported incident involving a Halon fire-suppression system.

⚠️ The cause remains under investigation, but the images raise SERIOUS questions about infrastructure, maintenance, inspections, and worker safety.

🚇 Transit workers already face dangerous conditions on the tracks. Now we’re questioning the safety of the buildings they work inside!

💰 The MTA continues investing billions in its transit system, but what about the people who keep it operating?

At this point, we might need a FEMA-style inspection of transit property! 🌪️
