And here’s the part Christian Zionists never want to touch: the majority of those deeply religious Jews do not even believe the modern state of Israel is spiritually legitimate. Some believe a Jewish state cannot truly exist until the coming of the Messiah. In other words, the people who dedicate their entire lives to studying the actual texts cannot even agree that this political project is the fulfillment of prophecy.

So why are millions of American Christians screaming louder for the state of Israel than many Torah scholars themselves?

That is the contradiction nobody wants to sit with. Christians who have never read Hebrew, never studied Talmud, never lived under Torah law, and couldn’t explain the difference between Zionism and Judaism are out here treating a modern nation-state like it fell directly out of the Book of Revelation wrapped in an American flag and an AR-15. Meanwhile, some of the most educated religious Jews on Earth are literally refusing military service because they reject the theological legitimacy of the state itself.
