As final preparations for the introduction of the HPV vaccine in the phase 2 states, the NPHCDA is conducting a 2-day National Training of Trainers (NToT).
The goal of the NToT is to train a pool of facilitators who will cascade the HPV II training at the sub-national level. Dr. Rufai Garba, Ag. Director, Disease Control and Immunization, who declared the training open, stated that the objectives of the training include: training participants on HPV and HPV vaccination, updating participants' knowledge on demand generation for HPV vaccine uptake, updating participants' knowledge on HPV vaccine adverse event following immunization (AEFI) surveillance and management, guiding participants on planning for the Multi-Age Cohort campaign (MAC) in the first week of HPV introduction, and reviewing state-specific plans on HPV introduction.
The participants at the training include Directors of Immunization, State Immunization Officers, NPHCDA State Coordinators, as well as development partners, all from the National and the 21 implementing states.
