✨ Assisting our community since 2014 ✨ ☝🏽 Two different donation drives going on right now. Link in BIO is for donations for San Jose Family Shelter 🙏🏽
On 6/20/23 while monitoring a sweep our encampment family was facing, I was introduced to a Senior Director for the @CountyofLA Homeless Initiative. He spoke about the plan to move our people out of the streets and into temporary shelter to transition into permanent housing.
I say all that to say. If you know anyone affected by the fires that could use help getting items delivered to them wherever they may be in the Los Angeles Area, please contact @ProjectPIFLA we have volunteers ready to drop off items to the people 🙏🏽
Now these donation centers don’t even care who is coming to pick up donations. They just want them off their hands. The only problem that I have with that is that when people donate to specific cause… their donations should go to who it’s meant for.
Mistakes were made with collecting donations. There was no real plan to get them to the people and only expectations that the people would come to them. I’m not blaming anyone because there was good intentions in these actions but I hope a lesson was learned here.
I’m trying to imagine if I would have the capacity to do these things for myself if I were going through the same and I don’t know that I would. Would really love to alleviate people of some of these tasks. #LosAngelesFires
If you work at a hotel that’s housing people that lost their homes in the fires please let us know. I would love to get people what they need directly to them instead of them having to go & pick up things.

The last 4 digits of the phone number is 7774 if it asks. Please type LA in the notes cuz I have other donations in there for the San Jose Family Shelter 🙏🏽

Be mindful that when it comes to donating items, clothing is typically the easiest and most donated at first. While I’m not speaking for every donation center it is likely that they all have an abundance of clothes. Volunteer to help sort what is already at these facilities.
There is going to be TOO much of a lot of things at these donation centers. I hope people consider giving them to the homeless homies as they are always in need.
It’s okay if you didn’t know what to do this week. There’s no wrong or right way to handle natural disasters. As things settle and your anxiety subsides, find a way to help in one way or another 🫶🏽
