This weekend, eight people were killed seeking safety in the UK. Or thoughts and solidarity are with all those affected, and all those who lost loved ones.
The policies governing our border epitomise a politics devoid of empathy and humanity - a politics which must change.
This week at Project Play... storytelling!
From puppets and theatres to "all about me" handprints, we've had lots of fun exploring different characters, getting creative, and telling some of our own stories too🎭🎬🐯🦸🏆💃📚📖
#PlayForEveryChild
Thanks so much to the amazing team at OPAL for supporting our campaign this autumn! This is a huge opportunity for us to make sure that more children have access to space to play in 2025.

As children across Europe settle back into school, hundreds of refugee children living in northern France don’t have access to education or spaces to play.
Project Play is working to change this. This autumn, support #PlayForEveryChild:

Yesterday, 12 people were killed seeking safety in the UK - among them, 6 children.
Seeking asylum is a human right. No-one should have to risk their lives to access safety.
Deaths on our borders must not become normalised. These are human lives, not numbers.
⚠️A journalistic investigation conducted by @lemondefr, @LHreports, @ObserverUK and @derspiegel shows how the French authorities, funded by the British government, endanger migrants and refugees’ lives in the English Channel.🧶👇 https://t.co/FEoHF4cukr
This weekend, five people were killed as they sought safety in the UK. These deaths are the result of the relentless pursuit of hostile border polices by France and the UK.
No-one should have to risk their lives seeking safety. In solidarity and anger - always.
"The “severe cold plan” is nothing other than a vast communications operation which allows the State to abandon its duties at the sight of the first snowflakes. The right to accommodation is unconditional at all times and in all weathers."
Dans les prochains jours les températures vont chuter alors que des milliers d’enfants survivent toujours à la rue avec leurs parents.
Certains aimeraient vous faire croire à une fatalité, mais c’est faux. Laisser ces enfants dehors est un choix politique.

10 December 2023 / 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. this groundbreaking document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being. #HumanRights#childrensrights@lexpsy
HUMAN RIGHTS MATTER ⚖️
Sunday the 10th of December 2023 marked the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
We will continue to fight for equal and accessible rights for every person.
We urge the French authorities to stop these violent eviction operations and respect human rights. 📢
We urge the UK government to stop supporting these violent evictions with UK taxpayer money.
We have been told that several evictions have been going on, and are still in progress in Grande Synthe and Calais today. It seems that camps have been destroyed: tents and personal belongings are being thrown away, forcing people out into the cold.
🚨Urgent Appeal 🚨
This week, temperatures in Calais will reach - zero.
Our services are a lifeline for vulnerable people, yet our funds are desperately low. Today, we are launching an emergency winter crowdfunder to help people stuck on our doorstep.
