@chopwisegamji@miriamcosic This legislation, since its introduction in 2003, sunsets every 3-5 years and needs to be renewed by parliament. This time, the gov wants to make the framework permanent. Greens have opposed on every occasion.
@rat_liker@fahadansari I can personally vouch I have been to this business so many times, incl. with arab friends, and it is always fantastic. It consistently gets 4 or 5 star reviews. They are also not vocally Zionist nor do they promote division on their pages. Definitely strange
@malehimejoshi_@FToast60 I believe this is untrue. Intentional killing is not unlawful if done in the belief that it was necessary for self-defence (see s 10.4, Cth Code). Even if the force were still found to be excessive, the verdict is downgraded to manslaughter in NSW (s 421 Crimes Act).
@blakesm93445680@estrabismoooo@Benthamsbulldog See how the sentence begins with ‘as a result’? If only that were some kind of indication of preceding argumentation or explanation which was not included in the quoted material….
@KDsGOAT_@gowonmode bro idk if you see how creatively and elaborately people play the sims and stardew but it’s certainly more of an investment than following a linear story that progresses each time you shoot the bad guys
@ent1lzh4@SimonBanksHB@Thomas3Simon@AusElectoralCom Sure, and there a court that will probably end up ruling on that. But it’s still not “nothing to see here”, which is a dishonest suggestion that something is being covered up
@ent1lzh4@SimonBanksHB@Thomas3Simon@AusElectoralCom The declaration of votes as informal (and the rest of the scrutiny and counting) takes place in front of candidate-nominated scrutineers. It’s not “nothing to see” when one can literally see everything
@_Evelyn_Clarke_@Ocidibin Given that the Bill entered the Senate in March, amendements agreed to and then amended Bill passed both Houses in September, I would say a six month delay to secure $1 bn is pretty good!
it's been like 25 years of Gender Trouble and people today literally think the principal aim of that book is simply to critique biological essentialism. Like omg did you even stay with the trouble?
@mochaweevil_123@RaadSighed@19virgils@onlinegirlie Together with ‘Performative acts and gender constitution’ (Theatre Journal 40(4), Dec 1988) a great starting point. ‘Who’s Afraid of Gender?’ the most recent, accessible and relevant to TERF politics. For trans studies, try the most read articles in Transgender Studies Quarterly.
@19virgils@onlinegirlie Judith Butler has been saying the same thing for 35 years and transgender studies has been an active academic discipline for about that time too. I don’t think the problem is lack of theory or thinkers
@fabiodeuxbeer if you time it right you can stretch out your hand to tap, keep walking and the card will be read just as you’re stepping away. flawless 🙂↕️🙂↕️
