I still remember Sudanis begging people to protest, organize & keep eyes on Sudan, only to be told protests don’t accomplish anything. Public pressure has always mattered. Now hundreds of thousands are dead & more will die because the world doesn’t care about Black African lives
you not black first. or a woman first. you’re a black woman. that’s it. your experience with misogyny is unique because of racism. your experience with racism is different because you’re a woman. the term ‘intersectionality’ exists because our experience is so unique.
It’s sooo weird watching people describe 40 degree temperatures in Europe as an unimaginable future when tens of millions across Sudan & other parts of the Global South are already living it + with limited infrastructure, 12+ hour power cuts and barely any global attention
