@eriarchive_ which is part of identity politics—this doesn't solve the fundamental problem, but instead creates a bad impression and resentment among neutral parties.
@eriarchive_ I think I understand: it's probably some rich but foolish player. I don't object to saying that spending 6000 yen to buy it boosts the official Breeze, but personal attacks are unacceptable—although I understand why some people resort to personal attacks,
@Lennartz_helmam@Yoituki_0516 You have the freedom to support NEXON because you're lucky, but please don't interfere with other people's freedom to complain about this mechanism.
There's something very disheartening: NEXON's divisive strategy is gradually taking effect on related topics on the Chinese mainland internet... at least I've seen people defending the new gacha system. This is not a good sign.
#BlueArchive#ブルーアーカイブ
@Pettan_Enjoyer Unfortunately, in mainland China, some players have started using theoretical calculations to prove how the new gacha mechanism is better than the old one.
@sans_qwerty We can already see it's suffering. Normally at this point, it's in the top 10. But we'll really know in a week when the fes starts.
Regardless, my feed is full of Japanese players complaining about bad the shift is.
I am going to put into post form what we have covered today...and the strange little chains I've noticed as we talked about the curious case of Patrick Soderlund and his recent role as an Executive Chairman of Nexon.
I want to cover it in a series of key events in specific times intervals and I hope some of you will keep up with this.
Before 2026:
1. Blue Archive struck with fair few stupid EN "Localizations" decisions, such as the Kikyou lines. Strong player feedback caused the lines to be changed and be more consistent with the JP and KR lines.
2. The controversial CdawgVA/Connor collab - again strong player complaints and feedback caused the collab to be changed to Mint Fantome and Remilia Nephys. Another good ending to another scandalous event.
After 2026: When Patrick Soderlund became Executive Chairman
1. The next scandalous Blue Archive collab - involving an overt hater like Fobm4ster, and later Brandon, who came out defending Blue Archive Antis who frequently attack its players...they stuck around and continued with the collab despite player criticism. Odd change...
2. The massive gacha nerf that is now the biggest source of drama. Despite even more massive player complaints and backlash - the new gacha system formally took effect. Saving for 200 pulls is no longer sufficient to get the two featured banner characters, you have to save up for 400 pulls now instead to be safe.
Blue Archive's producer made an "apology" post that doesn't really address anything and claims that the problem is just "communication process were insufficient", despite fact that most players understood properly what was communicated - and that the new system was worse.
Now consider Patrick Soderlund's past decisions, from EA to Embark:
1. The Battlefield 5 disaster, his famous “don’t like it don’t buy it” moment when Battlefield fans and players complained about the direction of the game.
2. Scrapped the original pitch for Arc Raiders: massive PvE game that involved fighting giant machines and robots - in favour of the PvPvE extraction shooter bandwagon. Game had a honeymoon period but rapidly lost a lot of players after 3 months from release. Player feedback and requests continue to be largely ignored, especially mass requests for a PvE gamemode.
What does this all mean?
Again maybe I am being too schizo about this entire thing - but I have noticed that the timing of all these very subtle but noticeable changes surrounding Blue Archive. What was once a Nexon that still could change its mind especially in the face of large number of player feedback, now seems colder, more flippant and even outright ignoring feedback.
Now I'm saying clearly this is all speculation - but by making such a simple timeline of key time intervals and the subtle differences in how Nexon handles decisions surrounding Blue Archive, both before and after Patrick Soderlund assumed an executive role...I really think getting this Ex-EA exec who has a reputation for mocking or ignoring player feedback - I do not think the changes are coincidence.
hold on, I just remembered that there has already been a group of Chinese sensei trying their best to build an archive for BA's out-standing stories
