@AngryGamesInc Or... and hear *me* out... one could try any of the literally hundreds of other TTRPGs in any genre you could possibly want, each of which benefitted from decades of evolving design in the industry and inspiration from other media without being burdened by legacy mechanics.

@EricDiaz_RPG D&D is currently designed for heroic power fantasy, and lasting consequences are anathema to that genre. It sounds like you want a grittier experience. You might be better off switching to a different game that's designed for that.

Book update!

I'm going to broaden my search for interviewees to include actors with ADHD, both because a lot is the same, and because a lot of people (especially women) who identify as ADHD are in fact AuDHD and either don't know it or are reluctant to identify as autistic.

You get good at masking by having human emotional expression as a special interest - and you usually get into acting by having human emotional expression *in media* as a special interest. Which can be a deep and nuanced skill base to build a performance on.

Acting can be simply another form of masking. So it can potentially be approached as a craft with great freedom and confidence by people who are good at masking... although that's not the way it's usually taught. #acting #autism 🧵
