@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 What I mean when I say the term “serial killer” isn’t meaning isn’t that killing people in an apocalypse doesn’t matter so to speak. It’s that why should I care that she kills a lot? Every other person in an apocalypse does. They have different morals than I do
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 There’s something really important you gotta know about the game. The game isn’t guilt tripping YOU. It’s guilt tripping ELLIE. TLOU2 isn’t an rpg game or a game where you project yourself onto the MC. It’s a story game where you can relate to the player character.
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 amount killed. Calling Ellie a “highly prolific murderer” does nothing for the conversation either. It’s true (especially by our standards) but it’s a distinction that doesn’t matter. Joel is one too. The games don’t criticize them for being murderers it’s criticizing the context
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 people as possible or as many as possible. The game isn’t critical of her killing people. The game is critical of her abandoning everyone to try to kill one person. In fact Ellie doesn’t feel any less hollow having killed less. The story plays out the same regardless of the
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 Why are you acting like the story doesn’t criticize her for going on her revenge quest? Why are you acting like the term “serial killer” holds any water during an apocalypse?
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 I see you’re arguing that the revenge and misadventures were all a smokescreen so Ellie could have an excuse to kill people. Very astute, I underestimated you; you are by far the most advanced scholar I have ever met. Pray tell who did you study under?
@PlatypiPope@Sam_Fox23 It’s actually less than that. Ellie herself is only forced to kill 15 people, 6 who are not infected. It’s only dozens if you count followers which bumps it up to 40, only 4 of which are non-infected. Also it’s not “ignoring the gameplay” it’s ignoring combat; stealth is gameplay
@Sam_Fox23 I disagree. The only canon kills are the ones the player can’t avoid (e.g. cutscene and event kills) you don’t need to kill anyone is the core gameplay outside of a handful. If you were forced to kill to move on I’d agree but you’re not
@Goditsanalien@SnowBallz7777@michael_eliade@usman16k Honestly tankpool rn is better than his launch. If you were getting a lot of value out of him before his nerf you'll be getting more this season. He got a damage buff (back to what he was at during his launch) plus the Hela teamup adds even more damage
@Goditsanalien@SnowBallz7777@michael_eliade@usman16k There was definitely a noticeable difference between his launch and last season. I was running lobbies at launch. After his nerf I def wasn't but I was still getting value; not as much as I was getting from Emma tho. Also doesn't help that I was getting instalock triple dps/sup
@SnowBallz7777@Goditsanalien@michael_eliade@usman16k A good portion of the time when I see someone saying X character needs to be buffed they really don't. Even when DP was in his nerfed state he just felt a bit on the weaker side but still comparable to most other tanks
@Goditsanalien@michael_eliade@usman16k Eh he got buffed to where he was when he launched but I really didn’t have that much of an issue with him when he was nerfed tbh. With his Hela teamup he’s in a really good spot imo
