One primetime game is missing: week 2 Thursday, Lions at Bills, which Buffalo won 41-31 as a 5.5-point favorite. "Teams getting under 50% of bets" should include one side of every primetime game, so if the public was on Buffalo, Detroit was the low-bet side and lost against the spread. That would make the record 16-5, and the underdogs 11-1 instead of 11-0.

Broncos +1 vs. Rams (week 3) may not belong in the underdog group. The closing line in nflverse has Denver as a 1.5-point favorite. Some books may have had the Rams favored earlier, but by kickoff Denver was favored at most books.

The betting percentages are unverifiable. Each tracking site (Action Network, DraftKings, VSIN) reports different splits. Posts like this sometimes use whichever source makes the trend look best.

How much weight to give it: 20 games is a tiny sample. Betting against the public has historically won only around 52-53% over large samples, close to break-even after the -110 juice. A streak like 11-0 is mostly what happens when you go looking for patterns after the fact. I wouldn't bet on it alone.

For tonight, Philadelphia is a 4.5-point home underdog against Dallas. If the public is on the Cowboys, this trend points to the Eagles, but treat it as a coin flip with a story attached rather than an edge.

@Travis1 It’s so close between “The Bears are who we thought they were” and “I’m a man, I’m 40”
