I’ve seen many traders spend weeks crying on X after payouts were delayed or denied without any valid reason, then suddenly, once the CEO notices they have followers, the firm “reconsiders” and pays them.

After that, appreciation tweets start flying like nothing happened and some even go right back to pushing affiliate discount codes for the same firm.

This industry is slowly becoming a place where traders must beg publicly for payouts. Certain affiliates and so-called review sites should honestly be ashamed.

Every funded trader has had 3 additional days added to the current withdrawal cycle. This was done because, with markets closed, many traders are unable to complete their minimum payout eligibility requirements. The added days allow traders sufficient time to meet conditions such as minimum trading days, consistency requirements, and profit targets.

This is an extension, not a new cycle, and was implemented due to global market closures around Martin Luther King Jr. Day, during which the risk team is also off.

After over three years of active experience with prop firms, there are two critical mistakes I strongly advise traders to avoid.

First, as an influencer, no matter how attractive or lucrative a new prop firm’s offer may appear, never introduce it to your community until you have personally received at least two to three successful payouts. Your credibility is built on trust, not marketing promises. Until a firm proves consistency with real withdrawals, everything else is just theory.

Second, as a trader, never purchase an account simply because you admire or trust the influencer promoting the firm. Always conduct your own due diligence. A prop firm must be legitimate by every standard, transparent in its operations, reliable with payouts, and compatible with your trading style and risk model. Popularity does not equal suitability.

These two lessons cost me time, money, and reputation to learn. I learned them the hard way, so you don’t have to.
