Today, they've taken in a notch higher - a citizen has been shot dead in cold blood in Ndejje! According to onlookers, the police and military committed this crime while forcing boda boda riders to stop and sweep. Just like that, an unarmed citizen lost his life to these trigger happy criminals!

One of the hooded JATT operatives who came with Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi to court, in full possession of some of the tools that are regularly used in torture sessions - gun, pliers, hammer, axe, knife, etc. Talk to past victims and they'll tell you how these items have been used to make citizens wail at the weight of torture- if at all they live to tell the story. These operatives even had the audacity to enter the court room, fully armed in this manner! That the judicial officer could not condemn them and instead punished Hon. Kivumbi with a long remand period is telling. UGANDA WILL BE FREE.

Sadly for Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, he is a Muganda, a Muslim, and a member of NUP. In Uganda today, each of these identities can invite hatred, brutality, and torture when one is abducted.

This morning I remembered the terrible things people have narrated as having happened to them while under incommunicado detention.

Then I thought of what could be happening to Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, to King Zale, to Sam Mugumya and all the others whose whereabouts are still unknown. It turns out that journalist and media personality @TimKalyegira, who has been missing, was actually abducted, held incommunicado, and is now being arraigned for charging! Simply because he's been outspoken about Museveni and his son's crimes. We got to this point because everyone thought that someone else would fix it. Hopefully everyone now realises the collective danger and the collective duty. Only then shall we be free.

It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of Sarah Ddamulira, wife of John Ddamulira who was abducted in 2020 and has remained missing since. During our recent visit to the hospital, she shared with us her feeling that her life was nearing its end, but she was deeply pained by the possibility of leaving without knowing what happened to her husband. Her children are now left without a father and mother. May God see it fit that justice be served to families like Sarah’s.

UPDATE

Last night, the military surrounding our home in Magere once again forced themselves into the house. They’re now fully occupying our entire home – INSIDE, outside, and around it. We are still unable to assess the extent of the destruction caused to the house when they first broke it and vandalised it on 23rd January. Neither have we been able to take stock of what items and documents the armed men seized from the house, since none of our family members has ever been allowed to access it since the attack happened.

Earlier today in Sheema at Kabwohe grounds, the regime police illegally plunged into our rally and tried to disperse our supporters. We had legally secured this venue for our campaign but the regime police did not mind that their illegal actions would even cause a stampede. Shame on them for exercising their partisan behavior in an election where they are supposed to be neutral!
