“Life in Somaliland is dominated by Islam. Alcohol is forbidden throughout the country, all the women wear the hijab or burqa and booming prayer calls regularly punctuate the day, starting at 4:30am.
Islamic law is incorporated into official legislation, clan discrimination is widespread and female genital mutilation is not uncommon.
Yet for decades, the territory has enjoyed an unlikely friendship with Israel, which came to spectacular fruition in December when Jerusalem became the first country on Earth to recognise the unofficial state…”

One man has made a huge difference to Arsenal's Premier League form this season 👀
Arsenal with Bukayo Saka starting: 73% win ratio (2.36 points per game) ✅
Arsenal without Bukayo Saka: 45% (1.64 points per game) ❌
This is bigger than people realise. A former British ambassador speaking in favour of Somaliland is a move with real weight.
Especially in the UK’s cautious political landscape, this kind of support matters. Let me explain why
Many Uk politicians should be watching @GavinWilliamson this guy is actually remarkable. Doing real honest work with Somaliland for so many years and it is paying off at the highest level now…
President of Somaliland, @Abdirahmanirro, attended an official dinner in Dubai with Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh and brother of HM King Charles III. Former UK Defence Secretary Sir @GavinWilliamson was also present, reaffirming his support for #Somaliland’s independence and recognition.
@KQawdhan@GavinWilliamson Stuff has changed in Britain over the last decade the UK is weak, and they won’t make decisions until it’s literally forced upon them which will happen inevitably.
@KQawdhan@GavinWilliamson It’s no worry. When we have a powerhouse like Gavin on our side, and the former ambassador to the US - Lord Darroch they have enough ties to get this across the line when the time is right. The British government at one stage will be forced to recognise Somaliland.
Everyone WARNED me not to come here.
They said it was Somalia.
Terrorists. Pirates. Kidnappings.
They said I was insane.
They were wrong.
This isn’t Somalia.
Welcome to Somaliland.
A country you won’t find on most maps because it 'doesn’t exist'.

Sheikh Barhaji is one of the masters of the science of Waqf and Ibtida’ (Stopping and Starting) of our time.
The Sheikh paused at the saying of Allah the Most High in Surah an Nazi'at:
"فحشر" [Then he gathered his people], then began with "فنادى" [and cried aloud]
This pause is called the Pause of Jibraeel, and the Prophet ﷺ would read the verse in this way.
The pause on the word حشر gives the verse more depth to the meaning. Because Firaun [may Allahs curse be upon him] took time in gathering the magicians and the leaders of his kingdom, so the فاء [fāʾ] is a letter that implies sequence, and the pause indicates that here there was a period of time required for gathering the people.
How beautiful is the Qur’an!
