[Otis @VirusZeke]

WE ARE WEIRD!!!! WE /LOVE/ BEING WEIRD THAT'S LITERALLY OUR BRAND!!! But we can't just sit there and take it when people point at us and called us genuinely defamatory labels!!! Of course we would retaliate!!!!

[Keni @Keniisu]

You don't hate them enough.

[alpha @omarsbigsister]

In every single country that passed age verification laws:

1) databases got leaked
2) innocent websites got censored
3) governments became more censorship heavy
4) protests became more criminalized
5) information got harder to find

[Spooky Key 🎃 🗝 🦊 @KeyTryer]

Actually crazy how sexually repressed the world is getting.

Your mother is problematic. Your father is problematic. Your son is problematic. Your aunt is problematic. The cashier at the local Tesco is problematic. You've probably bought a cookie from a bakery made by hands that have done unspeakable things. Every chocolate bar you've ever eaten has probably killed a 7 year old child slave in Cameroon. The gas that drives your car is fueled by engines of death. Every person who has ever smiled at you in the streets has committed some act that if you knew about it, would make you profoundly dislike them.

We have all been bad, small, petty, unlikeable, cruel, downright mean. Authors are not special "problematic" beings, they're just more public. Part of being an adult is recognizing that without mercy for our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we'd all be condemned to death. Reading fiction should help us understand that we're all irreparably tainted with evil, every system is corrupted, every line is broken.

And like, that's okay. That's what it means to be alive.

[LilacBeeDoodles @normielilac]

They are arresting BL artists in China, games with horror and gay/trans themes are being banned, books pulled from shelves, fr it isn’t about what makes YOU feel yucky. Soon they will come for you and the things you love cause you decided to slide into right wing conservatism 🙃

[Spotted Dummy 🐬🌺 @SpottyDumDum]

Did you know you can oppose government censorship without supporting the content?

You can think something is awful, refuse to engage with it, and still not want the government deciding what gets removed.

Because the moment we justify censorship based on “I don’t like this,” we hand that same power to someone else, who might decide your work crosses the line.

That’s how that works.

[fa @yaoichairman]

no shade but this is just natural selection. if you’re dumb enough to date a mafia boss based off slop romance books you are operating on a level of stupidity that has to get you excluded from all statistics

[choco @ ✈️ @chocolachama]

lol the uk is not a real place

What do you mean you can marry your cousin but fictional incest is banned

[Dewdler🔞(Comms Open) @Dewdler1]

I've bought a digital copy of this and am taking my sweet time to read through it.

Its been a DELIGHT so far!! 😊🎉

Deffs recommend! (Tho must warn: dubcon, noncon, public humiliation....so far 👀)

[Pro-Problematic @proproblematic_]

It's because they've mistaken their headcanon for a history book. You're citing peer review, they're citing J.R.R. Tolkien.

I used to have this mental illness where l thought logical arguments would change someone's mind

Time to bring back this classic

[Pro-Problematic @proproblematic_]

Fuck censorship
Artistic freedom forever

[KAK 2 @allenvonghornet]

Wait I thought the censorships was only gonna go after problematic romanticizing media….

Do not trust personal feelings of discomfort when it comes to whether some sexual fantasies are "normal"/"healthy" or not.

Believe the research.
Believe the experts (psychologists, therapists, sexologists, etc).

"I find this gross" is not proof that something is bad/unhealthy.
