Brunson is one of 6 players to average 26+ ppg in playoffs and play in 50+ playoff wins before turning 30. The others:
Michael Jordan
Kevin Durant
Shaquille O’Neal
LeBron James
Stephen Curry
@morelikemensa OG 8ppg on 16 total shots in the 4th
JB 10ppg on 32 total shots in the 4th
It really shouldn’t be a discussion. On top of being more efficient offensively, and a much better defender .. OG completely turned the series on its side with a game saving block and game winning tip-in.
In the Tracking Era, there have been 568 players with 500+ touches in a single playoff run. No one has produced more points per direct touch than OG Anunoby in 2026
Jalen Brunson: 29ppg (39.6/34.5/85.7) on 26.5 FGA
OG Anunoby: 24ppg (58/55.6/91.7) on 12.5 FGA
Anunoby is averaging 24ppg on less than half the shots taken by Brunson. This is certifiably insane. He is shooting 20% higher than Brunson in both FG and 3-point %. Not 10%. Twenty. Percent.
Brunson has been a volume scorer to a fault, while both KAT and OG have had a greater impact in them winning the series. Brunson failed them not once, but twice on lead-changing shots. OG first saved him with a game-saving block, and followed that up with a historical game-winner.
OG flipped the series to almost a guaranteed title instead of a dangerous 2-2 situation and heading back to the road.
Needless to say, OG has been 10x the defensive impact of Brunson.
If you vote Brunson because he's averaging five more points than OG on more than twice the shot attempts, fine, Perk, but think about all I've pointed out.
Also, if you can vote Brunson for averaging five more points than OG, please don't ever say Iguodala was FMVP over Curry when he averaged 10 points less than Curry. Speak the truth, Perk. I believe in you.
@watchout4jose@LegendOfWinning 4th quarter heroics? Like the game saving block and game winning tip-in to change the entire completion of the series? OG averaging 8ppg on 16 shots in the 4th in the series on high efficiency compared to 10ppg on 32 shots in the 4th for Brunson. Shouldn’t be awarded for volume.
At this point I’m FULLY on team OG Anunoby for Finals MVP.
He is INCREDIBLE:
23.8 PPG
4.0 RPG
1.2 APG
1.5 BPG
1.0 SPG
55.6% 3PT (6.8 3PA!!)
60.8% 2PT
91.7% FT
78.4% TS
HE’S PLAYING LIKE KAWHI LEONARD
OG Anunoby hasn't been negative in net points in two months. He is now the MVP of the finals (according to @DeanO_Lytics's net points). He also added over 87% in win probability tonight - holy hell!
