ProPublica’s board and senior management hide when asked to engage with bargaining. The board meets today, but they won’t meet with us.
We will make our voices unavoidable until they agree to a fair contract, so today we welcomed folks to our office with flyers about our fight.
@henrylouisgates of @Harvard and Finding Your Roots from @PBS, we’re fighting to end unfair wage disparities at ProPublica. By supporting management, you condone those disparities.
@jonathandklein of @GettyImages is on the board of the Committee to Protect Journalists. ProPublica’s workers are fighting for basic job protections. Support us in our fight.
We’re in our third year of fighting for a fair contract. After we held a one-day walkout in April, ProPublica’s Board Chairman Paul Sagan said management has “the Board’s full and undivided support.”
But is that true? We think board members should speak for themselves… 🧵
Support ProPublica Guild members by telling ProPublica’s Board Chairman Sagan it’s the board’s responsibility to direct management to agree to a fair contract now!

We asked ProPublica’s board to agree to a fair contract. Chair @PaulSagan1 replied that they support management, whose last offer includes weak job security and minimal guardrails on AI.
We know you stand with us. Tell Mr. Sagan: https://t.co/Pry0nWulxk
8/ We will continue fighting for the fair contract we deserve. Stand with us. Sign our petition, donate to our strike fund and learn how else to get involved: https://t.co/d9IX81Evc8
1/ Happy International Workers' Day to all our fellow workers and unions! ✊
ICYMI, our bargaining unit exercised our collective power to walk out on a one-day strike last month, as we fight for a fair contract.
7/ “This was something that only happened because of the absolutely wild length of time that we’ve been negotiating, and, frankly, the intransigence from our senior management to agree to a fair contract,” reporter & Guild member Mark Olalde told Poynter.

Two weeks ago, we walked out of @propublica’s offices for a one-day strike to demand a fair contract. We haven’t gotten ANY proposals from management since then. Tell our bosses that you’ll support us if we have to strike again: https://t.co/g2KLEcqToG
