#HappeningNow: The @AU_ECOSOCC, in partnership with @CambPressAssess, officially opened the AI Capacity-Building Training for Civil Society Organizations in Nairobi, #Kenya 🇰🇪!

The two-day training brings together nearly 60 #civilsociety and NGO leaders from 14 African countries to strengthen their understanding of artificial intelligence and its practical application in organizational management, fundraising, project implementation, stakeholder engagement, communications, and reporting.

The opening ceremony marked the launch of an intensive training program designed to help civil society organizations responsibly integrate #AI into their work and improve the way they deliver programs and services.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Dr. Raj Chintaram, Project Coordinator, reflected on the journey from the call for applications to participant selection. He noted that the training attracted 1,253 applications from across #Africa, with 1,199 applicants meeting the eligibility requirements. He explained that the review process incorporated AI-assisted ranking to support fairness, consistency, and transparency, while the final cohort was selected through a rigorous, merit-based, gender-balanced process.
