We are very proud to announce that two pupils from Prospect House have achieved full marks in the recent invitation-only UK Coding Challenge. This places them in the top 10% of their skill-based group (ages 10-19) in the whole country! #prospecthouseschool
With all results in, we're pleased to share that our children received an average of four offers each. Thrilled with our 2025 scholarship rate of 64%! While results speak for themselves, our philosophy is simple: The 11+ is a step. We teach the stride. https://t.co/XOEdL3QAiI
Year 6 have had their first of four financial literacy workshops, provided by @Tenent_Ed, as part of the secondary transition. Session one focussed on budgeting and provided the opportunity for the children to plan their finances. The children really rose to the occasion!
Year 5 are currently focussing on the skills of collaboration and working systematically in Problem-Solving Club. The children found the strategies of 'working backwards' and 'guess, check and improve' to be particularly useful in this session. #prospecthouseschool
For Year 3 Geography Week, parents gave presentations on: Australia, Brazil, Holland, Iraq, Jordan New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden and the United States. Thank you so much to our amazing parents for enriching the children's learning experience! #prospecthouseschool
Mme Radi recently organised a House Competition for la Galette des Rois. There were over 50 entries showcasing an impressive array of creativity! The children wrote poems, baked delicious galettes, created drawings, and designed crowns. #prospecthouseschool#lagalettedesrois
Lots of prep school parents happily kick the 11+ down the road until it gets to Year 5, when they can no longer ignore the elephant in the room. See my blog https://t.co/9nFdGSYxrI and discover why you need not fear the dreaded 11+. @prospecths@DukesEducation
In the recent @ISParent magazine, @DrMartinaGeromin talks about “Re-modelling the curriculum [and…] personalising learning […] to suit each specific child.” At @prospecths we agree. Read about our individualised learning approach on @claphammums https://t.co/yUZWx0Zi0q.
The Prospect House girls football team very excited to be playing the @AFCW_Foundation football tournament today. They were over the moon with their new kits #Prospecthouseschool
Tuesday saw the annual Problem-Solving Day take place at Prospect House. A whole day of activities including 100-square jigsaw challenges, mathdoku activities, sports problem-solving quests, coding challenges and 2D & 3D visualisation voyages! #prospecthouseschool
Year 2 have been printing their 'Strawberry Thief' inspired design onto polystyrene before colouring in the pattern with felt pens and applying a spritz of water. The tile was then pressed onto paper several times to create Morris-style wallpaper! #prospecthouseschool
Nursery have been bringing the story of 'Whatever Next!' by Jill Murphy to life. They pretended to be Baby Bear, blasting off to the moon for a picnic in a cardboard rocket ship. To cap off the week, the children were amazed by a rocket experiment with vinegar and bicarb! #phs
To help combat the dreary weather and the dark mornings, today we wore lots of colour at school in honour of our annual 'Brighten Up Your Day' day. Here is looking forward to the drier, warmer months to come! #prospecthouseschool
Prospect House places an emphasis on the concrete application of mathematics. Year 6 have been continuing to develop their problem-solving resilience and command of strategy. This week there has been particular focus on algebraic expressions and solutions. #prospecthouseschool
Nine instrumentalists were recently invited to @StJohnsSurrey for an afternoon of music-making. Joining with children from other schools, they made up a 50-strong orchestra practising two pieces before giving a performance to family and friends. #prospecthouseschool
Nursery were inspired by 'Emma Jane's Aeroplane' to create masks for the Venetian masquerade last week. Mini hot air balloons provided much excitement with the pupils exploring which weights, when added to the basket, would bring the them down to the ground. #prospecthouseschool
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with @thehmckcharity to bring increased access to sport. This initiative offers a free after-school hockey club for 7 - 9 year olds at local state schools and the sessions will be led by our PE team with our Year 6 students. #phs
This week, students across Years 3 - 6 competed fiercely to become multiplication table champions, recognised for speed and precision. They also participated in a group discussion on problem-solving, earning praise for excelling at the interactive exhibit. #prospecthouseschool
