The PROSPER study:
Sexual violence: suPporting Role Of SPecialist sERvices
NIHR study on the specialist voluntary sector's role supporting survivors in England
Today was a special day. Members of the @ProsperStudy team, and key stakeholders from across the sector were able to gather together for the first (hopefully first of many) dissemination event to discuss findings from across the PROSPER study from the last 3 years.
These pieces refocused discussions and helped create a more holistic picture of the academic study of sexual violence, and the necessary and valuable role of co-researchers more specially.
Call for all artists, poets, dancers, animators (and others). The co-researchers at @ProsperStudy are looking for collaborators on a creative project documenting their experiences. For more information visit https://t.co/kf5bOT1lQe (please share) @VAMHN@VAWGRN@NinaBurrowes

'I experienced years of intense “trauma-informed care” which dictated to me my wants and needs ... and ultimately (and ironically) left me more traumatised than before. It all could have been avoided if someone had just listened to me, and seen the person behind the trauma.'
'Trauma-informed care should be about pulling down the old structure and starting afresh, with the individual sat in front of you at the centre. Seeing them, really seeing them, as an individual.' https://t.co/wFvY7CLnaf

We at PROSPER are so lucky to have a team of co-researchers within our research team. This year, for #CoProduction Week, we have asked if they would be happy to share some thoughts on the theme of #CoProWeek this year - the impact of co-production. 🧵👇

Excellent role as a research fellow on a project looking at the role of co-researchers working on a study about sexual violence. Someone on my feed must be interested... https://t.co/0FsYf4RQsm
Just a reminder that making or laughing at rape jokes isn't 'harmless fun' - it is perpetuating a culture in which sexual assault is minimised and normalised. Rape is a serious and traumatic crime - it is not funny.
