Look closely at the paint colours chosen. As discussed in the EIS, they intend to use boring neutral colours where they can't confirm without any doubt the original.
The revised plan has the bouton and watt engine slightly less bricked up.. slighly.... sitting awkwardly at the end of a corridor is still an apt description
The EIS documents finally include some indicative images for what is proposed inside the phm, but without any museum display details.
Note that the official model does not include the B&W, where as mine (based on plans published earlier) does.
(also look how close mine was)

It needs to go from Carlingford to the rail at Epping. It's just a few kilometres, and would make it a viable transport corridor for more than just locals.
There are so many gaps in the north side of the network, it's usually just easier to drive
I feel like this gets announced endlessly every few months, but it seems like the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 will actually finally be going ahead, with $2 billion allocated to getting it started later this year.
Brilliant! Now, extend it south towards Lidcombe or Strathfield.
Display area of the museum is a disputed value.
20000 according to former museum people, 16000 or 11000 in old books, 15000 given as an official figure
In new plans it's 6000, 5100 if you don't the auditorium, or up to 8000 if you count other little areas. Still half to a third
This is where the #powerhousemuseum should be looking to host international, non specific events, if they really did solve the flooding issue. The galleries are very generic.
Not at ultimo, which make a big thing of linking the experience of exhbits to the architecture.
After 20 years in the role, Lord Mayor Clover Moore announced on Tuesday that she will be seeking a record sixth term in this year's elections. But critics say it's time for change, especially as commentary about the decline of Oxford Street intensifies.

An interesting phenomenon in the Sydney residential development market: developers unable to subdivide below 240m^2 are building strata, but as fully independent semi-detached houses.
Ie, they have not been able to get Torrens title division, so have used strata to bypass
The submission period may have closed, but to save the #powerhouse museum, we still need emails to politicians, so they don't just wave it through.
Write to them. Tell them you want the museum restored to something in line with what it was, not a shell over something different
Reminder, get you comments opposing the project tonight.

From some angles, the Proposed new building blocks the upper #powerhousemuseum facade, from others it frames it nicely.
It would still look much better if they weren't chopping of the iconic glass and metal, with its post modern half rose window
Reminder, the #AustralianMuseum, on a much smaller budget, showed a much better way to plan a museum.
They had plans in place for what they wanted to do, and showed them.
They even added space for events, but they didn't take out the most iconic spaces in the process.
The project continues to be a mess, wiping away everything people loved about this museum
