The Coalition to Protect America's National Parks advocates to #ProtectNationalParks w/ a membership of over 4,600 former & current #NPS employees & volunteers
As severe weather brings dangerous cold, snow, ice, and power outages to many communities, we want to recognize the National Park Service employees working through these conditions to protect visitors, safeguard resources, and support surrounding communities.
We’re grateful for their dedication and encourage everyone to:
• Check local weather and park alerts
• Follow closures and safety guidance
• Avoid unnecessary travel in impacted areas
Removing history doesn’t restore “truth.”
The Park Service has taken down an exhibit on slavery at Independence National Historical Park, part of a broader effort to erase stories of slavery, racism, and injustice from our parks.

National Park Service employees are working hard under incredibly difficult circumstances. They deserve fair evaluations based on their work, not artificial systems that damage morale and push dedicated staff out.

A new piece from National Parks Traveler examines the Endangered Species Act’s record, its successes, and why efforts to weaken it could cost us far more species.

The Endangered Species Act works.
Because of the ESA:
• Green sea turtles rebounded from near extinction
• Humpback whales recovered after industrial whaling
• Brown pelicans made a full comeback
• Sea otters are restoring kelp forests
We are urging the EPA to reject the proposed “Updated Definition of ‘Waters of the United States’” rule.
