Hey, @CermaqCan - Why is Digby Neck the only area to have an "info session" scheduled on a weekday afternoon, during a planned power outage, in the worst ice storm of the winter, with no info stations, no presentation, and no Q&A? #GoodbyeCermaq
Patronising letter from @CermaqCan to residents of Digby Neck about their sham of a consultation - this "info session" was scheduled for 2pm on a weekday, ensuring most people would be at work. Now these changes to divide and conquer a unified opposition. https://t.co/FE4EVgebLj

A small victory tonight: the Municipality of Digby has voted tonight and are on record as being against the expansion of open pen salmon aquaculture in St. Mary's Bay.
.@CermaqCan says they wish to start with 4 - 6 feedlots in our bay. Each site, an average of 12 pens. Each pen, about 90,000 fish. That's between 4.3 million and 6.5 million salmon. What other industry could get away with dumping that much waste into our water? Source in comments
“We want you to understand we didn’t invite you. We don’t want you here... We want you to go.” You heard us, .@CermaqCan . #GoodbyeCermaq . We do not want you here.

@TheGAAIA@CermaqCan@chronicleherald @SalmonNews Hi, Don. Thanks for sharing this! We are a fairly new group of concerned folks fighting to keep @CermaqCan out of St. Mary's Bay here in Nova Scotia, as mentioned in this letter. Glad to find you on here.
"This was paradise. Now it's just a garbage dump." The salmon farming industry claims to be "environmentally sustainable". What is sustainable about leaving piles of trash on the shores and ocean floor?
