The three-domains (3D) tree was put to rest, symbolically, in favor of a two-domains (2D) tree. In hindsight, may be there never was a 3D tree. See this blog for more https://t.co/yDoZ8cVThZ 1/n
Unfortunately post delivery customer service declined to process the return/refund. If this is not a glitch in the payment process, it must be a well thought out scam to trick customers into adding more items to the cart! Can @zeptocares resolve this?
Also, I was unable to cancel the order - customer service was either unresponsive (chat) or unavailable (phone). Finally, the delivery agent said he could neither apply coupons nor let me reject the delivery, the Only option is to accept the delivery and then return for a refund.
@carlzimmer This story is incomplete as shown in this undirected (unrooted) tree. We don't know 'which end is up'. Can't say who is a close relative of who. Deciphering unrooted tree is unreliable/misleading as it lacks a time axis. See more on rooting here https://t.co/vkGhIKZ24s

@CT_Bergstrom @LeeDugatkin We've explained briefly why this two-domains hypothesis is better supported here, and more detailed discussions in our earlier works https://t.co/vkGhIKZ24s
After I decided (w heavy heart) to not go to the @APSphysics meeting in Denver I recorded this as a sort of Public Service Broadcast on social distancing for the people who did attend. The meeting has since been canceled, so I am uploading it to twitter ( thx to @G_RegevYochay)
I wrote this piece with @mlipsitch about how reporters can help cover the #Covid_19 pandemic better. It’s also targeted at the general public, to help understand the different sorts of knowledge we can talk about. Many thanks to @sciam for hosting! https://t.co/krxSbwv7HG
Our pair of papers on Bayesian phylogenetics without sampling trees in final version https://t.co/cZ3ARHd71O https://t.co/leNlFritEZ . (On arXiv too.) Blog post here: https://t.co/7k4oddsGXH Thanks to @m4ment @afmagee42 @vnminin + many others!
@SClaramuntUY @jakeberv@ewaltjackson@thePeerJ Darwin formulated gradual change (descent with modification) AND common descent (and more). The one on the left says nothing about common descent - it doesn't explain Biological evolution. Left one ok to describe evolution Mickey Mouse, Microsoft mice, but not the rodent family

A thorough discussion as to why the phylogeny is NOT confounded by horizontal gene transfers can be found here https://t.co/aIk5KepvB1 and here Phylogenomics of protein structures https://t.co/U96LRi1XUB (let me know if you need a pdf).
