There is surely a logical explanation. Surely!! Science explains all phenomena, and if it remains unexplainable, it simply means our science is outdated!!

LOG UPDATE: I fear I may be getting a bit. Wrapped up. In this whole cat debacle

I flushed all the air vents with negative pressure and rotary brushes. I had never done this before and discovered that it is very loud and dusty. Cat is stressed, partner might be stressed as well

The rats have been thoroughly trained to relax in loud situations so at least they are perfectly content

And let it be known on record, in this log, that what I found in the vents was NOTHING!!!!!!!

Surely there is something. There has to be SOMETHING, right? Some logical, tangible cause for my cat’s behavior??? It’s somewhere in the house, I have to keep looking, yes if I just continue looking…….

LOG UPDATE: F01 has a few specific areas of the house that she stares at. Our bedroom closet, some corners of the lab, the kitchen. I’ve only seen her hissing occasionally, and always at air vents. Still no signs of rodents anywhere other than my subjects, and no bugs either ‘,8/

R10 is the smartest rat I have encountered thus far……. She would not be able to resist the excitement of foiling me once again.

We may not meet again today, but we WILL meet again, scoundrel.

LOG UPDATE: My first assumption is that my escaped rodent subject, R10, has returned after months of terrorizing Zaun’s food markets. Naturally I set up some cage traps to investigate. It is unsurprising that the traps came up empty in the morning, but usually R10 steals the bait

Since the expensive cheese that I left for her remains in tact, I am tentatively ruling R10 out as the cause of F01’s strange staring behavior
