@jossyoursalad69 I understand the worry! Once again I am not saying you're a bad person for not reporting here, but I'm in IDD care I have worked with individuals coming from places like fairview training center and this exact situation is gone over in trainings as one of the examples of abuse.
@jossyoursalad69 The one I do at my company is an interactive training not a video and it's targeted towards care home employees. The hypothetical situation is a family member putting their grandmother into a care home and them prescribing a bunch of new medications causing changes in behavior.
@jossyoursalad69 to a point the yearly training i do about mandatory abuse reporting brings up this exact example as a form of abuse that should be reported. the worst they can do is close the case at intake. you can't get "in trouble" for making a report.
@jossyoursalad69 i currently work in a psych facility. you said in your own tweets that you were given actual evidence besides just suspicion. if you suspect a patient is being overmedicated by their facility that is abuse and is absolutely reportable.
@jossyoursalad69 it doesn't really matter if they come out or not, the fact you didn't report suspected abuse as a mandated reporter is a crime. im not trying to morally shame you cause more than half the cases of abuse ive reported were closed at intake so i get it
