It’s kind of interesting how the Golden Age of Marvel is almost entirely unknown and neglected in the modern day (save for Captain America and Bucky) but the Golden Age of DC is the whole brand. Namor and the Human Torch, Marvel’s first heroes, debuted 2 years after Superman.
@bubblenation2@M0CAIN It's weirdly realistic but God damn Naruto was not the series for that kind of realism. Break the cycle and make the world better, just don't squint too hard at the post-series content and epilogues or the illusion breaks.
@daffypost Allowing them a monopoly over creation and interpretation of media and art is a big part of how we got here. You do not win a culture war by refusing to engage with the machinery, signs, and symbols of culture. Its beautiful loser mentality, while they happily 1984 Animal Farm.
@ShamashAran Used to happen in Japan btw. Because kids got the kiddie treatment legally, the Yakuza would use teens for it. They got a slap on the wrist and out early, now committed members. A big part of stopping gang wars was Japan removing those protections for teen crime. Same everywhere.
@twinsarekeepers Don't forget Zutoph and similar! Somehow, the coloniser argument is never used there either despite the fact the Earth Kingdoms were the ones that literally got colonised by the Fire Nation! It's literally just with Zuko & Katara.
