it takes away so much from the story. when adam tells cathy that sam looked at him and it helped him it just falls so fucking flat because they barely even showed anything of samuel. every conversation he has with adam falls flat because you don’t get to see sam around other ppl

Cathy’s characterization is so inconsistent, kazan can’t decide if she is a victim or the monster steinbeck wrote. Florence does her best but the material is baffling. Visually uninteresting and worst of all, boring. A total bore. Yawn.
