MAJOR UPDATE:
THE DOORS WERE BLOWN WIDE OPEN ON THIS CASE EARLIER TODAY!!!!!! Thanks to the efforts of many others, I have officially confirmed that this bell is from Central Railroad of New Jersey #909. A 2-8-2 Mikado built in 1923 by ALCO. Detailed info in this thread below🧵
The adrenaline rushing through my railfan veins is now unmatched. I am now the proud owner of a steam locomotive bell. I have no idea what engine it's off of, but all I know it is from an anthracite railroad of some sort. I will absolutely give updates on this ASAP.
@mishy_the_fishy I mean
You can see the huge ass metal plate covering the radiator in the picture if you use your eyes. Also I almost forgot to mention that there's a much better picture of the electrical cabinet that's even worse than the radiator somehow.
@Eggoburner@PRRFanDoesTrain You're the one posting out your ass... I was there for the unveiling, and it's a set of decals over the grills; not paint. They had the thing isolated for the entire trip up the canyon because it won't get proper air flow for cooling. UP 1616 and the ACM were doing all the work.
Fun fact, the flag painted on the rear isn't actually painted on at all. It's a metal sheet that covers the 75% of the radiator inlets.
It can't go over Notch 1 without overheating which is why you see 2 other engines with it pulling the NASA train.
absolute fucking poetry
I really wish they introduced her as like the chief engineer at the Steamworks. It would make a lot of sense to have a human character fill that role, which we’ve never seen before, and would give her a more sensible place in the world than… inventing flying cars and shit.
John Lee, the modelmaker who designed & constructed two identical Hank props, shared this behind the scenes picture of both props on his portfoilo website. There are 2 distinctions between Hank A and B, with Hank A featuring a higher cab roof and chip in the front running board
