It's Evolution Fact Friday! And because it's #BlackHistoryMonth@bhmuk we're highlighting Margaret S. Collins who was not only an evolutionary biologist but a civil rights activist. She studied insects 🪲 & is probably best known for her work on the evolution of desiccation resistance in termites. She was the first African American woman to earn a PhD in Entomology and later became known as the 'Termite Lady'. Termites she collected through her work are now in the Collins Collection at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
You can learn more about her here: https://t.co/FpyCYJa4v0
