This totally sums up LA’s. The DELAY is the win as there’s no consequences for them. My daughter’s needs assessment always met the threshold but the LA successfully delayed the process by 4 months while we waited for mediation. They overturned 2 days before the meeting!

I had my first #ofsted as senco in December. As I am autistic I asked for a reasonable adjustment, like having the Q’s just before they were due to meet with me. Wasn’t allowed. They changed the plan of the day last minute and were 30m late! #ActuallyAutistic #Autism #overwhelm

@bliss_melanie @sencochat Agreed. The legal threshold was already met and she is requiring a high level of support at school as evidenced by EP, school nurse, Camhs, counselling service, specialist teacher, ELSA and EBSA support.

3 months after we submitted a request for a needs assessment towards an EHCP, which was declined and less than 2 days before our mediation meeting the LA agrees to assess my daughter. So much time, stress and energy wasted. #sen #autism #systemisbroken #driftanddelay #sencrisis

This is my life. I point out the LA hasn’t followed the rules/ law / policy and I get labelled as a ‘trouble maker’ and the rules are left unfollowed
