@elonmusk join us at the Open Device Alliance.
The ODA transforms the device into a dual-purpose asset, allowing Private 4G/5G to become as ubiquitous and user-friendly as Wi-Fi, creating a balanced ecosystem where both the enterprise and the operator thrive.
We are scaling up a new industry collaboration, the Open Device Alliance (ODA), focused on theย device-side of Private 4G/5G and other Non-Public Networks. The Alliance brings together enterprises, device makers, RAN vendors, and solution providers to align technical, operational, and commercial practices, close ecosystem gaps, and publish practical guidance that reduces implementation friction and accelerates real-world deployments.
You can find the current framework, mission, and goals of the Alliance here: https://t.co/CaE9QmZaNP
MNO differentiation is a myth in the In-Building NHN and Private Network space.
Differentiation is often a talking point by the MNO's when discussing neutral host and private network solutions. But let's be clear, it is ONLY a talking point.
Do not fall for the propaganda!!!
The 2G/3G/4G/5G device market has been built around the MNO, as almost all devices would connect via the MNO network.
That is starting to change with the continued growth in the Private 4G/5G Network market.
That is why I continue to bring a focus to the gaps, limitations, and incomplete feature sets that slow and impede Enterprise adoption and implementation in their Private 4G/5G environments.
If you have an interest in this topic, or better yet if you have a passion for this topic, feel free to check out the first draft of the Open Device Alliance Wiki.

How do you see the wireless connectivity landscape of carpeted Enterprises, Big Box Retail, and K-12 evolving as DAS-NHN-MOCN-MORAN-WiFi start to collide and evolve ?
What does a NHN 4G/5G solution give you in these environments that a modern properly designed and deployed WiFi solution can't ?
The gaps I currently see between a 4G/5G based solution and WiFi are:
๐ Public Safety & 911 - work is under way by Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) to address this gap
๐ Mobility - improvements rolled out with WiFi 7 have helped, and will continue to evolve with WiFi 8
๐ Seamless Mobile Connectivity - OpenRoaming has solved this for @ATT and @TMobile , so the only gap and current holdout is @Verizon
If there are critical workloads in these environments currently or at some point in the future, then adding P5G would make sense.
NTN Offload = US MNO coverage + connectivity in remote and unserved locations
WiFi Offload = US MNO coverage + connectivity in underserved and congested locations
pLTE / P5G Offload = โ๏ธ
If you are an Enterprise that has deployed or plans to deploy a pLTE & P5G network, you might want to ask your current MNO why they only support their solution โโโ
PRV8Calling bridges the IMS divide between the MNO and pLTE / P5G networks using existing device capabilities - no extra Gateway, HW, or SW โผ๏ธ

For all of the proponents of DAS, MORAN, and MOCN solutions.......

DAS has been around for 20 years and less than 5% of the locations that lack great coverage, capacity, and connectivity have a 3 MNO solution deployed, with the great majority of DAS networks deployed only solving for the ๐ง๐ข๐ฃ/๐๐๐๐ง๐ venue locations.
Whereas WiFi + WiFi Calling can be deployed by anyone, of any size, anywhere with no restrictions or impairments imposed by the MNO.
Why then would this not at least be a first order solution that is enabled for those deploying Private 4G/5G Networks????
After all, WiFi is just a different flavor of a Private Network.
So whether your Private Network is WiFi, 4G, or 5G why would would you not extend ePDG based Calling (also know as WiFI Calling in a WiFi Private Network) into Private 4G/5G Networks????
Feel free to argue the benefits of DAS, MORAN, and MOCN if you must, but the only mass deployed and scalable wireless solution outside of MNO's Macro environment is a combination of WiFi + WiFi Calling.

When talking about the problem takes 3X the time of solving the problem...........welcome to the established wireless ecosphere!!!!
Hopefully @starlink can be the reset that has been needed?
