Family Code Night during #csedweek was a great way to bring families in and learn the many fun ways they can engage in computer science together. #csforallnyc#nycschools@CSforAllNYC
Micro:bit programming was so much fun during grade 5s hour of code. We created flashing LED programs with our own custom-made melodies. We also created events for the A and B Buttons! #csforallnyc#nycdoe#csedweek@PS201QSTEAM@NYCSchools
Can you code a candy cane? We used binary code to create a candy cane that represents 3 letters, or a 3-letter word. Then we used the candy canes to decorate the school tree! #csforallnyc#csedweek#nycdoe#nycdoeschools
@NYGovCuomo -think deep before speaking. If we wait for schools to get a 3% positivity rate before closing, typically that means wait until, on average, 30 kids get corona. Jeopardize the lives of 30 children to keep the schools open? an entire class of children? Shame on you!!!
So very proud of our Grade 5 Scratch Programmers @scratch@PS201QSTEAM . They spent a lot of time researching and putting together a program that highlights a notable figure in history. Check out their wonderful presentations:

@NYCMayor@NYGovCuomo@DOEChancellor Nassau county already announced county-wide social distancing for schools- when will you realize this is a safe measure for NYC children too? Rethink your decision now before promoting the spread of #COVIDー19 to our NYC families!
@NYCMayor The entire city has recognized the need for a pause from exposure to #coronavirus EXCEPT the school system. Everyday, children are exposed to well over 500 people in hot confined buildings- the perfect conditions for contracting this virus. CLOSE SCHOOLS NOW for safety!
