Education around periods is necessary to teach young people about their menstrual cycles, menstrual hygiene, periods products etc. This also needs to include educating men and young boys about periods.
Stigma and taboo surrounding periods, is very much still an issue around the world. Many girls in developing countries skip school because of fear of leaking. Stigma is also present in ethnic communities, where the topic of periods is a conversation had behind closed doors.🩸
Some cultures view menstruation as 'impure' and 'unclean', which leads to feelings of shame and humiliation.
As a society, we need to ensure that we use our platforms and voices to speak up for those who cannot.
Over 2.5 billion women and girls around the world are affected by discriminatory laws and the lack of legal protections, often in multiple ways.

Also, switching to a different brand of progestogen-only pill may result in changes to your period. 😊
If you are considering starting contraception or if you are in any way concerned about your period, consult your GP 💜

Did you know that taking the contraceptive pill can change your periods? ❤
The combined pill can make your periods regular, lighter and less painful. 💊

The progestogen-only pill can have an unpredictable effect on your period. Your periods may become lighter, more frequent, or may stop altogether, and you may get spotting between periods. It is possible to bleed everyday, however, this may settle down after 3 months.
