2. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages; and

The major contributors to the downtrend of inflation of the food commodity group in Northern Mindanao in May 2025 were:
1.Vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses;
2.Cereals and Cereal Products; and
3.Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals.
Northern Mindanao’s economy soared in 2024, growing by 6.0 percent and boosting its Gross Regional Domestic Product by ₱59.33 billion to reach a remarkable ₱1.04 trillion, PSA X Regional Director Janith C. Aves revealed during a news conference.
NEDA X OIC-Regional Director Richardson T. Cua emphasized that Northern Mindanao ranked as the 6th fastest-growing regional economy among the 18 regions in the Philippines in 2024. It was one of the seven regions that posted a faster growth rate than the national growth of 5.7%.

NEDA X affirms that the region remains rich in terms of agricultural sector following a minimal 0.05 percent growth of AFF in 2024. In fact, Northern Mindanao remained the second-largest contributor to the country’s agricultural output, with a total value of 187 billion pesos.
