"If you vote Yes, you will be walking with us"
Indigenous Australians from across the Kimberley have come together with a simple message: vote Yes.
#yes23
The #VoiceToParliament is a simple and safe proposition.
It’s about recognising the uniqueness of First Nations history in Australia. ✅
It’s about ending wasteful spending. ✅
Vote yes on 14 Oct and help make history. The nation has nothing to lose. It’s that simple. #Yes23
@belinduhpyne What kind of ars*hole scours the Twittersphere randomly offering their BS reckons on women they don't know? Oh wait... sadly we all know!
@strangerous10 Is the document Sen Pocock holds up, the 'power map' in the public domain yet? Is likely to be in the material avail on the Aus Parl. inquiry webpage?
The Australian government and Parliament make special laws and policies about Indigenous communities, because of their position and history as the first peoples of this country. Indigenous communities deserve a fairer say when government makes laws and policies about them, so better policies can be made and better outcomes can be achieved. Not a veto, just an advisory Voice. Not much to ask. #referendum2023 #voteyesaustralia #voteyes23
@StrayDogNZ@_chloeswarbrick One of the smartest politicians in Aotearoa, sadly, having to debate one of the most foolish. Swarbrick is her usual calm, clear, articulate self, Seymour is doing his DebSoc routine.
It seems to me, albeit from my non-Aboriginal world view, that the 'debate' on the Voice is harmful and not least of all to Aboriginal people. I have such admiration for the bravery, wisdom and expertise of Dr Westerman AM. Her voice, her deeds and experience are clear! Vote YES!
This post on my linked in page represents why I have reluctantly chosen to address the comments made by Senator Jacinta Price last week. In a perfect world I would not have to speak publicly against another Aboriginal person-it’s not how I was raised. But it’s ultimately an ethical responsibility to explain trauma from a position of science; a position of evidence.
I am working on a fuller OpEd which I should have posted in the coming days
@WilStracke Oh perfect response! Your message is clear, the words, the delivery, the face. Hang on to those f*cks to give when you damn well feel like it.
There’s a bunch of anti-Trans activists at Parliament House today meeting with sympathetic politicians. Great to see a quick response from pro- Trans rights activists in Canberra making sure their voices are heard and exposing the bigots at this demo.
