1 Kings 18 :20-39 recounts Elijah’s dramatic confrontation with the 450 prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel. By challenging Israel to choose between the false god Baal and the one true God, the passage demonstrates that God’s supreme power silences all doubt and brings wandering hearts back to Himself.
The Miracle Prayer(to be said everyday)
Lord, Jesus, I come before You, just as I am.
I am sorry for my sins,
I repent of my sins,
please forgive me.
In Your name,
I forgive all others for what they have done against me.
I renounce Satan,
the evil spirits and all their works.
I give You my entire self.
Lord Jesus, now and forever,
I invite You into my life Jesus.
I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.
Heal me, change me,
strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit.
Come Lord Jesus,
cover me with Your precious blood,
and fill me with Your Holy Spirit,
I love You, Jesus.
I praise You, Jesus.
I thank You, Jesus.
I shall follow You every day of my life.
Amen.

The devils do not read your thoughts, but they know you better than you think. Most people make one of two mistakes. They think demons are all-seeing—that they know every thought and you can't hide from them. This is not true, and it is important to know because this fear itself is crippling. Others think that if demons can't read thoughts, they act blindly. This is not true either. The truth is in the middle and much more interesting.
Abba Dorotheus says: "The devils do not know our thoughts, but by our movements, words, actions, and facial expressions, they guess the location of our heart." They watch us, study us, and watch how we react in different situations: what affects us, where we are weak, where we forget to pray, where we get irritated more quickly. Imagine a hunter. He can't read the mind of the animal, but he knows its habits. He has studied where it drinks water, where it rests, and what sound it is afraid of. And he hits the spot, not because he knows everything, but because he is patient and attentive.
That's why the Holy Fathers talk so much about sobriety (Gr. νῆψις / nepsis) or alertness—a constant attention to the thoughts and the heart in order not to allow devilish inspirations. This is the basis of all spiritual struggle. Sobriety is paying attention to yourself. It is the ability to notice the first movement of a thought, because if you notice it first, you succeed. If you don't see it, anger has already taken a step forward. St. John Climacus says: "The beginning of the victory over demons is soberness of the mind." Pay attention to what is happening inside you.
☦️Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, surround me with Your holy Angels, with the prayers of our Most Blessed Virgin Mary and the Theotokos, with the power of the Honest and Life-giving Cross, with the prayers of the Holy Archangel Michael and all the heavenly powers, and with the prayers of all Your saints. Deliver me from all evil, from all sorcery and enemy attacks, so that they cannot harm me, for You are Good and the Lover of Mankind. Amen 🙏🏽
This was not written by me, but it touched me deeply…
Sunday is coming.
“He received 39 stripes because 40 was known to kill a man. They wanted him alive. They held handfuls of his beard, and hair and pulled it out by the roots. They wanted him alive. They kicked, punched, and spit on him for hours. Until there wasn't a single spot on his body not covered in blood. They wanted him alive.
They shoved a crown of thorns down on his head so harshly it stuck in his skin. They wanted him alive. After hours of being beaten, mocked, whipped, flogged, and tortured they made him walk with a cross. They made him carry it. A rough piece of wood with splinters digging into fresh wounds. They wanted him alive.
They wanted him to feel every ounce of pain they could bring. He had to feel it in order to heal us. Crucifixion was historically one of the cruelest most tortured deaths a human could face. Hours upon hours of torture. Torture most of us can not mentally think of because the cruelty isn't normal. It isn't something our minds can comprehend. We celebrate Easter with pastel colors, happy children hunting eggs, and chocolate. Truth is there was absolutely nothing happy about the day Jesus died. It was cruel, bloody, and nasty.
He could have stopped all of it. He could have called every angel in heaven to demolish every person standing and shouting "Crucify Him!" He didn't. He knew in order to have a Sunday you have to have a Friday. He knew in order to have joy you have to carry your cross. He felt everything that day. He felt how your heart broke wide open when you had to watch your baby die. He felt how heavy your life was when you were staring down the barrel of a gun wondering if the man you called husband was going to shoot you. He carried the weight of the burden you have felt since your spouse died, and life just doesn't seem right since.
On that cross he held the rapist and murderers, the sinner and the saint. He leveled every playing field and said ALL of you are worth it. He knew he had to carry the cross. He never promised the cross you carry in this life would not be heavy. His wasn't. His promise is that Sunday is coming.
No matter how heavy Friday is. Financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically. Friday is heavy. That cross is weighing you down and you are about to crumble under its weight. His promise was simply this. He won't make you carry it alone. What kind of king would step down from his throne for this?
Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God did. For you. He did every bit of it for you and me. Oh yes, it is heavy. So heavy sometimes you do not think you can take one more step. But look up, because Sunday is coming.”
On this sacred Good Friday, let us meditate on the immeasurable love of Jesus for us.
Take a moment to thank Him, and make a heartfelt decision to love Him more. Let your life become a witness to His love.
Please share this with your dear ones and spread His love.
The Invisible Glass Experiment
Scientists once conducted a fascinating experiment with a pike and an aquarium.
They placed a transparent glass barrier in the middle of the tank. On one side was a large, hungry pike. On the other side swam several small fish.
As soon as the pike spotted the smaller fish, it launched itself forward to attack.
Bang! It crashed headfirst into the invisible glass and was thrown backward.
Undeterred, the pike tried again... and again. Each attempt ended the same way a painful collision. After repeated failures , its head became bruised and some of its scales were knocked loose.
Eventually, the pike gave up. It retreated to a corner of the tank, clearly frightened and defeated.
Then, the scientists quietly removed the glass barrier.
The small fish now swam freely around the entire aquarium some even passing right in front of the pike’s mouth.
But the pike never attacked again.
Even though it was starving, it refused to strike. In its mind, the invisible wall was still there.
A few days later, the pike died of starvation surrounded by abundant food it could no longer bring itself to eat.
This phenomenon is known as the Pike Effect (or Pike Syndrome).
It serves as a powerful metaphor for how repeated failures and setbacks can create invisible mental barriers that limit us long after the real obstacles have disappeared.

What most people don't know: they are praying the Angelus
For 700 years Europeans stopped everything three times a day: fields, markets, and workshops
The same prayer at 6AM, noon, and 6PM
The Church bells still ring
But nobody knows why anymore...
