Depends how you define it. If we’re judging on ability, Rooney is only one who’s possibly better. If we’re talking impact for England, I think he’s already best of the modern era. Combine the two and it’s hard to argue against him, and with Jude, I think England win a major trophy.
@FabrizioRomano@jfelixdiaz@diarioas Best midfielder in the world. Unique profile who can do literally everything on the pitch to an elite level. Phenomenal talent and may well go down as the best English player ever
@ChelseaFC Such a shame, the most complete right back England have and if his injury record was better, it wouldn’t even be a debate as to who would be first choice
@TouchlineX Such a great example of the psychological role in elite sport. Bodo players believe they can beat anyone, it’s been proven by results and it just scales from there. Most impressively their success isn’t just confined to playing at home
Closest thing to Haaland that England have, and I’ve never understood the Kane comparisons (beyond being Tottenham).
What makes Kane unique is his playmaking, something Lankshear doesn’t possess, but he shares the crucial factor that makes Haaland so dangerous. They can live on the periphery of a game, barely touch the ball and yet, score when they do. Tiny fraction of strikers have that instinct, he’s one of them.
10 - This season across all competitions, Middlesbrough’s Will Lankshear has struck 10 goals in total - one of only two players to hit double figures for a side across England’s top four tiers, alongside Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (also 10).

@TouchlineX Really don’t like this opinion. In any other business if an employee spoke out about policies and structures that are making his job difficult, he wouldn’t be told to ‘shut your mouth’
This idea that you can only be critical if you’re without fault is so stupid
@TouchlineX Trying to think of how far back you’d have to go for it to be surprising that a Belgian side has beaten a top Serie A team?
We barely bat an eyelid these days, and I’m not sure if that says more about the state of Belgian or Italian football…
