@RadhikaBarman5 Crows need meat. And they hunt for it. Why should humans kill one bird (chicken) and feed another? Why prefer one species over the other?
@RadhikaBarman5 Please don't this of this as an attack. This cognitive dissonance exists because we are conditioned by the society to view certain animals as friends and others as worthless commodities. This is speciesism, which is pretty similar to casteism.
@RadhikaBarman5 About feeding strays: This is interesting. You said you can't afford to be vegan. But you spend money to kill innocent animals, to feed other animals. Isn't this opposite of compassion? Like, how would you feel if someone killed dogs to feed to lions?
@RadhikaBarman5 How can you be compassionate for someone and yet support enslaving them, forcefully impregnating them, stealing/killing their babies, keeping them in tiny cages and killing them?
I am compassionate for animals and care about justice. Hence I advocate veganism.
@shekhar_lele@patralekha2011 It's a fact that most people don't really care about animal suffering, if caring about it means giving up soe of their pleasures.
@asheuriii Also, this is why i don't feel like animal rescues actually do much good. For example saving a pig from a slaughterhouse, they will just breed another to meet demand.
@abhijitwt@wojakcodes Talk to vegans. We also have delicious food. I know plant based dairy alternatives don't have big marketing budgets, so many people don't know about them.
