I have a new blog focusing on disabled peoples liberation! Which you can follow here, directly from the blog linked below, or via the Crip the Planet Facebook page.
I also have a Kofi if you want to buy me a coffee that I'll link to in the next tweet 🖤

I think the scariest & sureal moment was when I was alone at a bus stop in my chair & a man started chatting to me asking the usual "what's wrong with your legs then" I gave the nice practiced answer we all have, and then it got DARK. He said "I was too...
@finisfunny I once had a man give me an ice cream cone I didn't ask for, because I was "an inspiration" and then he walked off. The ice cream seller then informed us he'd stolen the damn thing and I had to pay for it!
😬😂
@Coffmeister It's been 14 years, and I'm a wheelchair user that puts themself out there so I've run into a fair few. We're not threatening so folks feel safe to dump all thier weird, and sometimes eugenic, vibes on us.

Public harassment has become part of my daily life over the last 12 years, which makes dealing with hen nights much easier, but still has never made dealing with random devotees on the streets easier.
Devotees being fetishists with a thing for disabled ppl.

Then there's stuff you come across that's just ridiculous.
Why is the main ESA assessment office in Birmingham not wheelchair accessible? Why since 2008 haven't they found a new location? Why does the booking database still have it listed as acessible?
Luckily a bus pulled up & I pulled free, and without checking the number I got on. But it didn't end there, another man who had watched all this happen & got onto the same bus walked up to me as we travelled & silently shoved £20 in my hand and then got off!
Surreal.
"... nice to be disabled" & that he "had a gun at home" & that he would be kind enough to "take me back to his and shoot me in the head". He then grabbed my handle bars and started trying to push. He wouldn't listen to me protesting that I liked my life and didn't want that.
Random strangers following me around with one hand jiggling thier unmentionables, who like to block me from being able to roll away & then start creepily telling me how they want to take me home & "care" for me & watch me struggle. One told me I'd be sexier with my legs cut off.
