In the UK, we have a general election, go to bed, wake in the morning and find out who has won. We still get news reports on other issues. In the USA, they have a general election and in the UK there is no other news - not even the shipping forecast? We've got this wrong somehow.

We had rung at Prestwold in the morning, so had lunch there instead, and it was a good place to ring handbells. Love going to Taylors. Last time was 2012.

Ringing Rounds on the 12 change-ringing bells (6 cwt tenor) at Taylor's bell foundry in Loughborough during Great Gransden ringers' autumn outing. Super tour of the foundry and museum too. Great fun - highly recommended. Thank you Taylors. @GBellringers @JTBellfoundry

Nine today for our tied bell practice using sim sound. R&CC called by Haze, Josh, Elinor and Tricia. PH5 not starting in Rounds, G5 pc's. Em ready for her Level 1 cert, Josh got his yesterday. Super progress during holiday sessions.

Eleven ringers in the tower @GBellringers this evening with two visitors helping us work towards a Level 3 cert and a Level 1 cert @LtRringers hopefully by the end of the month. Watch this space. Ringing included CCs PB5, G5 and PB6. @RingingTeachers

@zaphodikus Birds - SS wire. Dust - impossible, twigs impossible - the jackdaws poke them through the wire - that's why I clean annually. Bats - present but not a problem. We're lucky, all areas r easily accessible and the bells are below old belfry so keep quite clean. Pse visit if u wish.

Visiting the derelict 3 bells at Lt Gransden, Cambs. Oiling the tenor bearings and checking the rope is ok so that I can toll it for a funeral next week. We used to Chime all 3 but the wheels have begun to disintegrate! They haven't rung full circle in living memory.
