राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन, उ.प्र., चिकित्सा स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग, उ. प्र. तथा पापुलेशन सर्विसेज इंटरनेशनल इंडिया (पी. एस. आई. इंडिया) के मध्य परिवार नियोजन, डायरिया से शिशु मृत्यु दर में कमी लाने तथा मातृ एवं शिशु स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम को सुदृढ़ करने हेतु त्रि-वर्षीय गैर वित्तीय समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर शुक्रवार को औपचारिक रूप से हस्ताक्षर किए गए। इस समझौता ज्ञापन पर मिशन निदेशक, राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन, उ.प्र. डॉ. पिंकी जोवल, महानिदेशक, परिवार कल्याण तथा पी.एस.आई. इंडिया के एक्जीक्यूटिव डायरेक्टर मुकेश कुमार शर्मा द्वारा हस्ताक्षर किए गए। इस अवसर पर महाप्रबंधक, फैमिली प्लानिंग डॉ. सुर्यांशु ओझा एवं पी. एस. आई. इंडिया के प्रतिनिधि भी उपस्थित रहे।

इस साझेदारी के माध्यम से उत्तर प्रदेश को परिवार नियोजन सेवाओं, मातृ एवं शिशु स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम और डायरिया नियंत्रण व रोकथाम को मजबूत बनाने के लिए सहयोग प्रदान किया जाएगा। इसके अंतर्गत स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रदाताओं और फ्रंट लाइन वर्कर का क्षमता संवर्धन, परिवार नियोजन सामग्रियों की उपलब्धता में सुधार आदि में सहयोग शामिल है।

The City Level Task Force on Immunization and 2nd City Coordination Committee meeting was held today at BMC under the chairmanship of the Additional Commissioner. The meeting primarily focused on strengthening interdepartmental coordination to improve key health interventions, including IPPI, HPV vaccination, maternal health, family planning, and routine immunization.

Officials from BMC and the CDM&PHO, Khordha, along with representatives from the Education Department, ICDS, DPMU, CPMU, PSI India, and JSI, actively participated in the discussion. Strategic pathways were explored to further enhance coordination, improve service delivery, and expand the impact of these critical health initiatives.

#NavjeevanamLaunchPatna: An expert panel discussion moderated by Deepti Mathur, Associate Director-Program Learning and Training, #PSIIndia, explored key aspects of safe delivery and quality childbirth services in Bihar. Dr. Vijeta, State Program Officer, Adolescent Health, SHSB, highlighted the importance of well-equipped facilities that ensure patient-centred and respectful care. Bimelesh Kumar Sinha, Deputy Director, Child Health, SHSB, emphasized facility readiness, accreditation, skilled staff, and adherence to quality standards. Dr. Anupam Singh, Consultant-Quality Assurance, SHSB, underscored the importance of the "golden hour" and early initiation of breastfeeding as critical interventions for newborn survival. Dr. Kalyan, stressed the need for neonatal care units in every facility and strengthening the capacity of ASHAs as labour room navigators at CHCs and district hospitals to bridge the gap between communities and health facilities.

Deepti Mathur noted that the recommendations emerging from the discussion will help guide the implementation of #Navjeevanam, with the aim of transforming the six supported CHCs into model facilities and paving the way for scaling quality improvement initiatives across Bihar.
