You should follow @spamotic because he is really cool and definitely not me in a trenchcoat.
If I blocked you, but you're nice, it might have been by accident.
Wrote this, about the too much antisemitisms situation. It shouldn't be a thing. We need to stop it.
Alright, so,
When the world learned of the Nazis' crimes at the end of WW2, it was broadly agreed that "fighting antisemitism" was a good idea, as part of ensuring such atrocity would Never happen Again. Over time, however, the memory of the Holocaust has been eroded and distorted...
▫ Its true causes are misrepresented, reductively. Jewish suffering is portrayed as incomparable to that of any others at any time. Even, seemingly, the great many non-Jewish people who perished in the very same Holocaust, whose suffering is often not portrayed at all, who go unmentioned so routinely that many people are barely (if at all) aware they even existed.
▫ Nazi scapegoating of Jews is portrayed as unique and specific, rather than largely circumstantial. Antisemitism is portrayed as a uniquely terrible form of bigotry, requiring special attention and specific tools to address it. Thus the lesson that in similar conditions, other groups could be targeted just as harshly (as indeed *they were*, alongside the Jews), is lost.
▫ A simplistic popular understanding emerges: Hitler was a madman who just hated Jews so much he Holocausted them; and people helped him because he was very good at speeches and infected them with antisemitism mind virus; thus, "Never Again" = "fight antisemitism".
▫ That misses (what should be) the point. It is of disservice to humanity in the present and the future, and our collective interest in preventing such atrocities. Including those occuring right now.
But the memory of the Holocaust is and has for some time been exploited, for political and financial gain, and to deflect legitimate criticism of Israel and its crimes.
▫ Modern definitions of "antisemitism" primarily serve this purpose. This is bad.
▫ The "antisemitic" label, and the threat of it, are used to coerce, control, and silence; thereby influencing policy, and access to power. Thus, Western power structures are almost exclusively staffed by people who at least outwardly support Israel and the weaponised "fight against antisemitism".
▫ No-one is exempt, including Jewish antizionists and non-supporters of Israel, who if anything are attacked harder, with more spite (and special terms, self-hating, Kapo, etc), to defend exclusive ownership of the 'Jewish' brand, thus the authority to define antisemitism, and the fight against... antisemitism. Ironia chaya, innit.
▫ In response to outcry about Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestine, "fighting antisemitism" is now being used as direct justification for implementing increasingly authoritarian measures, egregiously restricting, prohibiting, and criminalising a wide array of actions and expressions.
▫ Most are aimed at silencing and punishing criticism of the horrendous behaviour of the Judeonazi state of Israel and that of its proponents and zealots. The ways in which these measures are being implemented and/or enforced are also cause for serious concern. This is unacceptable.
Israel's treatment of Palestinians, although far worse since 2023, has for decades included: systemic structural discrimination; dehumanisation; disenfranchisement; dispossession; arbitrary indefinite detention; execution; mass-slaughter; torture; organ harvesting; violence, in all of its forms, to every degree, with no limit. Read that again.
▫ It is beyond obscene.
▫ And, objectively comparable to Nazi persecution.
▫ Yet, the most widely used definition of antisemitism (IHRA working definition) *explicily* states that drawing any such comparisons is "antisemitic".
▫ And, Western countries continue to increase the scope and punitiveness of their responses to "rising antsemitism".
While the Holocaust of Palestine continues.
While the Holocaust of Palestine continues.
While the Holocaust of Palestine continues.
"Never Again", and the institutions and tools which were supposed to uphold it, have been *at best* useless. The fight against antisemitism has been twisted to serve the inverse of its intended purpose. What was created to prevent systemic persecution, is now used to silence criticism of systemic persecution; and as a pretext for its implementation.
▫ It is now a weapon of Jewish Supremacy.
▫ In active and increasingly heavy use.
▫ This is bad. It is a bad thing.
Nowhere in the world today are Jews subjected to systemic structural discrimination and oppression. Laws and regulations intended to protect all peoples from harrassment, violence, etc, already exist. If they are good enough for everyone else, why not for Jewish people? If they are not good enough for everyone, why not? Treating antisemitism as a special and vastly more important case is unnecessary; nonsensical; absurd; outrageous... and this would be so, were it only that simple, but it is so much worse:
▫ It is not used to fight antisemitism. It is used as weapon of Jewish Supremacy. It is used to silence and punish anyone who dares criticise those who support and comprise a Judeonazi apartheid state constantly perpetrating atrocities and subjecting its victims to systemic structural discrimination and oppression; and to bolster and further expand the power of Jewish Supremacists to impose their will on people and nations.
▫ It does not even protect Jewish people. It empowers Jewish Supremacists. It is weaponised against all others, including Jews, who reject hateful, violent, supremacist ideologies; and call for the upholding of human rights, international law, basic human decency...
▫ AND, this insane 'special treatment' causes resentment, which causes antisemitism to INCREASE. Jewish Supremacists aggressively insist that they are and represent "The Jews", so when people don't like their unbelievably obnoxious behaviour, bam: "antisemitism". Then, "rising antisemitism" is used to justify increased measures to "fight antisemitism".
▫ But it does not fight antisemitism. It empowers Jewish Supremacists, whose self proclaimed representation of all Jewish people; combined with the prevalence of ignorance of the distinctions and intersections between all the relevant groups of people; and the resentment caused by the special treatment and obnoxious behaviour of people who call themselves "The Jews", places all Jewish people, including decent, peaceful, antizionist, anti-Israel, non-genocidal Jewish people, at increased risk of [misdirected] backlash.
▫ It is circular. It is by design. It is well past time we stopped tolerating or giving anything to the *infinite* tantrums and crocodile tears and of those with vested interests in perpetuating this circus. It is well past time we stopped falling for this shit.
▫ White Supremacists scapegoating Jews. Jewish Supremacists scapegoating Muslims. It's the same thing. Again. It must be stopped. Now.
There is absolutely no valid justification for the status quo, let alone further encroachment of this profoundly dangerous capitulation to supremacist control.
▫ Reject and dismantle the obsolete and utterly corrupted concept of "antisemitism" and the "fight against antisemitism". Abolish their special status in law and in custom.
▫ Fight supremacism. Fight oppression. Fight genocide. Fight those perpetrating atrocities. Fight those materially supporting that shit.
▫ Literally.
The Holocaust of Palestine continues.
The Holocaust of Palestine continues.
The Holocaust of Palestine continues.

@brownecfm More covid infection = stronger belief that covid is UltraMild™. Humanity is now a fractured mob of cordyceps-infected ants scaling the grass stalks of Freedumb.

Arguably even more tricky when our idea-having organs themselves are damaged. We know that people can be very impaired without realising it. Alzheimer's, strokes, alcohol, hypoxia, etc. That doesn't apply to us though. We're fine. We'd notice if we weren't.
Except, we don't.
Oh well, anyway...
Completely Unrelated™*: Vast wealth inequality has nothing to do with the cost of living crisis which along with all other problems is caused entirely by marginalised minority groups and the solution is to abandon democracy reject the concept of universal human rights embrace [Christo]fascism and [techno]feudalism and nuke Russia.
And China. And Iran. And Canada. And anyone who thinks about lookin at us funny. And double the military budget to create the first superintelligence.
As a weapon.
To rule the world.
Yes, these are all sensible, non-insane ideas, borne of rational, fully-functioning minds, which will surely lead to positive outcomes; and we definitely used to think exactly like this before, too. Mostly, well, people used to be less-bad at driving, and flying planes etc (not us tho we're fine); and we all used to be scared of nuclear war, and AI-weapon arms-races, and tyranny, for some reason, lol; can't even remember why now, how silly, those things are all super great; and viruses definitely can't change the course of history by subtly altering people's cognitive function, and even if they can, covid definitely isn't one of the ones that can, because when we all caught it we realised that it's actually fine, and mild, and then we ended the pandemic just by saying we ended it, and editing our narratives about what happened, and what is happening; but it didn't affect our brains, that's impossible, and absurd, as if cognitive function has anything to do with the course of history anyway, but anyway, if that were happening, we'd notice; but it's not, and we're fine, and anyone who says otherwise probably has WOkeMindViRus.
I dunno, man. Of course there are many other factors, and parallels, going back [well] before 2020, but one of the things WW2 followed was, after all, an influenza pandemic. Covid is more strongly linked with cognitive impairment than influenza is. Changes per individual need not necessarily be stark to cause wildly different outcomes at the population level; especially when such consequential binary decisions as 'launch luke [y/n]' are on the table; and again, other factors yada yada, but it seems to me that people, in aggregate, aren't exactly at their nicest, wisest, or sharpest, these days. Ruh. Roh.
@pigeon__s@AISafetyMemes it's fine you can just do linear extrapolation to find out how capable current SoTA models are, ie., v5.5 is 57% better than v3.5 yup mmhmm 🧐
Excellent work by RNZ showing the full story - with documents - how big polluters can now get laws created for themselves and active court cases against them stopped.

What's most interesting about "SuitandTie9999" denials on being linked to the Taxpayers Union & Jamie Ross is that Jordan Williams just confirmed the OIA in question IS a Taxpayers Union OIA
And Suit and Tie confirmed the OIA was one he personally filed.

@hotMILFeatBEANS@s_m_marandi I think he knows what he is doing, and I think he's right to do it... Effective communication sometimes requires using "incorrect" terms if they're the only ones that can be understood.. Perhaps you are not fully aware of how deeply propagandised we (Westerners) are... (it's bad)
Exxon’s Vice President warns: a dramatic oil price surge is just 2–3 weeks away. The energy shock - and the economic collapse it triggers - is accelerating much faster than most realize.
