Hello everyone ,
It’s been a very interesting 24hrs .
Yesterday, I made a statement about Peter Obi that generated a very strong reaction here .
My intention wasn’t to make him look unattractive or deride him in any way . It was borne out of frustration as to how eerily familiar this process felt like the 2023 episode.
To be honest , I love Peter Obi and the image he represents. He comes across as really empathetic and compassionate. Even after 2023 he remained consistent in lending a helping hand where he could outside of election cycles . This is not something we are used to seeing a politician do . He remains the politician who has no criminal case of corruption attached to his name . This is commendable and must never be taken lightly.
I apologize to everyone who might have been hurt by my comments yesterday despite what my intentions were .
We all want a Nigeria that works !
I really do hope that the New Nigeria will be one we all get to see and be proud of in our lifetime.
As Nigerians , we must never forget that though we might disagree on issues , we are all in this boat together and together we must do all we can to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams .
God bless you!

the second coming is an uncontested topic to be fair.
the real problem is rapture theology. i suspect the person who started this conversation conflated the two.
also most of the scriptures we quote to explain it, we quote out of context.
for instance, 1 Thessalonians 4, often quoted to mean a rapture of the saints where everyone disappears and there would be great tribulation is largely misunderstood.
What Paul describes here is Parousia.
A common Grecoroman practice where a triumphant king is met by his followers and then ushered in alongside them so that they can continue reigning.
if you read further down, the conclusion in 1 Thess 5 is this:
'For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.' I Thessalonians 5:9-10
something bigger than an event is being described here. we are all present with Christ whether we are dead or we are alive.
there's a corellation of this imagery that Paul uses with the imagery of the son of Man from Dan 7, which Jesus also uses: you will see the son of Man coming on the clouds and seated at the right hand of God...
Now "coming on the clouds" doesn't mean that Christ would be seen descending with clouds...
rather, it means Christ would be enthroned in the clouds... many have noted that the word used here could either connote coming or going... which makes it confusing to translate, but also removes it from all our familiar categories.all of this is a language of vindication.
2nd Temple Messianic texts are full of these allusions and followers of Jesus employ them to describe their understanding of how history ends. in their imagination, history ends with the vindication of Christ and the saints.
this is particularly useful when having conversations with atheists about when Christ said things like "this generation will not pass until these things are fulfilled" or people who say Paul was a failed prophet who expected that the 2nd coming of Christ is imminent but did not experience it.
and we can finally start understanding the book of revelations too... dense apocalyptic imagery that we need actual experts to help us understand in context...
also, the idea that all i need to do is "show from scripture," "bring a verse" is a little too pedestrian for a topic as complex as eschatology. it misses interpretative diversities and concerns and frankly breeds an environment where your mind is already closed to the argument before it even starts. that's seems like faithfulness, but this is not how arguments work.
in truth, there's so much to learn. but rapture theology at best is a summary of Christian eschatology that is downright unhelpful.
still, the jump to there is no second coming is unsupported. the real fight is with overliteralization. and i think reading the Church Fathers could help, though i admit i haven't gotten that far.
Being a godly man goes way beyond “ I don’t fornicate “ . It goes beyond performative Christianity . Godliness is seen in your ability to respond correctly and appropriately to people , especially that woman in your life .
Most men seem to think that the appropriate way to respond to a woman saying many sisters are struggling to find men they find Christian virtue in is to DISMISS the concern .
That right there is the problem !
I was like that before I got married .
As you grow you will realize that the best response to a woman’s feedback is to listen attentively without feeling judged or needing to defend yourself .
This capacity for emotional intelligence to be able to understand a woman’s needs before trying to provide solutions is what many men , including I struggled with .
So , I don’t fornicate , I pray , I go to church is the barest minimum .
When you marry , it will be clear to you.
If you don’t understand.
Relax , in due time , you will .

Mad to think Arteta didn’t win a single manager of the month and Amorim won one in October. Guess the one who tops the league and the one who has been sacked.
But God’s economy works so much differently. He doesn’t measure our calling by the level of success we have attained. He measures it by obedience. Did we show up? Did we listen? Did we trust Him enough to do what He asked, even if no one else claps for it?
I can’t remember how many times I’ve already said this on here but it’s true… the world we create in is obsessed with outcomes: views, likes, sales, impact. We’re conditioned to measure the value of our work by what it produces.
When God calls you to something, He is not always calling you to succeed, He's calling you to obey! The success is up to Him; the obedience is up to you.
God did not ignore Hannah. He was leading her to a place of understanding, that the Kingdom comes first. When she arrived at that realization, she gave her son back to God, and in return, God blessed her with four more children (the real quadruple, not Arsenal.)
Maybe, you need to shift your prayers from a place of self-interest to a place that considers what God desires as well.
This your opinion now, is this a good way to respond to someone?
That's exactly why he blocks you guy. You came to someone's mention to tell him he doesn't think.
@DibiaErnesto You're not even thinking before you put this things out. Because there's no ay you're thinking this through and you won't see a problem in there somewhere.
Someone is blocking people for dissenting opinions, it basically means he's myopic & not open to learning anything.
I've attended many conferences that are relevant to me. Just not a men's only conference.
I haven't seen any that interests me yet. But that is clearly beside the point.
