The “Have a good life” goodbye into Sam's fantasy of growing old with Diane is perfectly directed, possibly the best television ever, and certainly as beautiful as a sitcom has ever been, or ever will be

@thesheethockey@JeffMarek@FanDuelCanada 106 points, and being one of the last 3 teams playing, two years after drafting 5th overall? Yes, this has been a successful season.
Last year was about learning how to make the playoffs, this year was about how to win in the playoffs. Onward!
@StuCowan1 This matchup reminds me of the 1981 preliminary round series between the still-formidable, veteran Canadiens and the upstart, emerging Oilers.
@EricEngels Was at game last night— talking to Ranger fans, there was a lot of respect for the Habs; MSG was uncharacteristically quiet until the 3rd— I may have missed it but there was no “Potvin Sucks” OR Dancin’ Larry?
@ArponBasu@scottcwheeler I know that Habs brass has said, even very recently, that their Cup contention window is not yet open. However, do you think their play the last few weeks has changed that perspective? They seem to have leveled up in a non-fluky way.
@brendanshowbiz Looking at the schedule, there were about 4 games where Dobes had been playing well and earned the net, but Monty got the start instead. Who knows how those games would’ve gone otherwise but I think it’s safe to assume that’s cost us roughly 5 points. Could mean no playoffs.

@EricEngels Yes, Texier adds depth to the group, but it still seems like it was a hasty move to extend your 13th forward for two years based on a hot streak.
