One of the most humbling moments in my life! @illmindPRODUCER The Blap God himself laced a sample loop I created and blessed it with pure fire 🙏🔥 Do yourself a HUGE favor and if nothing else just listen to him. Has changed everything I thought I knew about this world and biz.
Stop competing in music.. I get it you wanna “compete” to motivate you to be the best u can be like Kobe and Bron and Jordan
This ain’t basketball tho
It ain’t even a sport
It’s music
There’s no refs or points or a shot clock.. the “most Grammys” or the most streams don’t mean shit because at the end of the day, nobody gonna crown u #1 anyway
#1 Billboard is amazing but it’s not forever and there’s always going to be someone else out there with more #1’s than you
It’s a non stop loophole of depression if u keep trying to compete
Enjoy life and the process, win the accolades and keep leveling up but keep it about the music
Because at the end of the day we are here to serve people with music that hopefully resonates and creates positive energy for the people who hear it
RT, Like and send this to every music producer you know..
1. No one owes you anything, ever. Unless it’s in a signed contract.
2. No one cares how good you are. They care more about if you’re easy or hard to work with.
3. Submit. Let go. Only do what’s in your control, which is mostly just making music.
4. Shooting your shot can backfire if you’re annoying AF. Successful people hate annoying.
5. Be easy. Easy to work with. Easy to talk to. Easy to communicate with. Easy to be around.
6. NEVER come with extra baggage.
7. Figure it out. By all means necessary. If someone asks you to do or provide something, take initiative to DELIVER. Figure out how to do it. If you can't do it, get someone to help you. Make it as easy as possible for the other person.
8. The more stuff you know how to do, the better position you will be in to provide value.
9. The key to networking is having a great reputation. Bigger people in the music industry (the people that can help you) need some type of validation or "vouch" from a mutual friend or peer.
10. NEVER show up in places that you are not invited to. Yes, shoot your shot, but stay out the way (see #4)
11. Every minute of your day counts. Reflect on things that are not conducive to moving your career forward. Relaxation is ok. That's part of the job (a relaxed high vibrational mood = BETTER MUSIC and better decisions)
12. Always have stems, files, folders ready to deliver. Back everything up. Never send files with an expired link or expiration date (*ehm "wetransfer").
13. Send THREE beats (or songs/loops) at a time. Three is the magic number. Three is where "chaos" lives. Sending ONE mp3 forces the listener to have to LOVE it. Sending TWO mp3's isn't enough. Sending THREE forces the listener to choose their favorite one, ultimately forcing them to make a choice to use/listen/love something.
